If u going during cherry blossom (april) period then you can start planning/booking accommodation, else hard to find cheap accommodation as it gets closer to cherry blossom period.

guys, i'm planning my daily budget excluding accommodation, train pass, tic.
just purely on food, minor transport fees, entrance fees, minor shopping.
SGD$120/day?

year end to new year period, people from tokyo returning to hometown.

Hi TS! Is Kumamoto fun? I will be going there for a few months to work. :)

Wah i like Kumamoto! Small regional city, but awesome castle esp during hanami season.

Ramen rocks, esp the small shops near the main shopping street.

Also, i am partial to trams.

What industry are you in that brings you to a regional city?

Is the leaf still green at Kinkakuji?

I believe it will turn yellow in maybe 2 weeks time :o

turning yellow liao, some reds already. When u go, will be peak of koyo le. Awesome, but i guess u know that liao. :D

too bad Kiyomizu now has some scaffolding due to refurbishment.

I went Tateyama and made a snowman le!
