That said if you spot any irregularities do report to NOC so that its tracked by ticket and you'll be informed once it's optimized/rectified.

Thanks!

Also can confirm the option i choose like asus router, VQ TV all will be deliver together with the installation date?

Also if i use my own router do i emial noc about the mac or do i tell the guys when they do the installation?

thanks a lot

Warranty will be standard local Samsung TV warranty as its all local stock.

For change of MAC address, do snap a photo of the MAC address label and notify NOC (or you can type it out too).

Cheers

Just signed up today via email - it was pretty hassle free despite me messing up my form AND missing my call. Props to the VQ team! Great start, hope it will be a good 2 year run ;)

Can't wait for everything to be up and running!

Hm, actually reading on the connection, if I'm getting the ac87, the zhone will be the modem and Asus as the wireless? How both of them communicate? I wonder if I can place the zhone at the fibre point and the Asus in the central of the house for better coverage

The zhone will be bridged so that your asus acts as the primary router. You can place the asus anywhere but it will need to be li ked back to the zhone via an ethernet cable

hi,

Considering switch over to VQ, with static IP address add-on for high performance access from www to 2xNAS.

As i was reading the fine print :

b) Subscribers wishing to make use of this service will need to have the Zhone router configured in Bridge mode and use a separate router. ViewQwest will only offer support for subscribers using the Ubiquiti Networks Edge Lite router.
ViewQwest does not guarantee usability of the 8 IP addresses if the subscriber wishes to use a device other than the Edge Lite.

Q1 : Seems I need to pay for the additional Ubiquiti Networks Edge Lite router. Possible to get FOC by swapping with the free router N56U ?
Q2 : is the edge Lite good enough for 500MB uplinks 24x7 ?
Q3 : can i connect Rt-66U to Zhone/Edge for additional smartphones, and laptops.
Q4 : do i need to pay any $$$ for activating the second fibre connections ? or any other hidden costs ?

Br,
HG

u sure you need the additional static IPs? All plans already come with one static IP each.

OIC, good good... can save $50/mnth.
Do i still need to do port forwardings for 1 static IP ?

Current service provider, i need to configure port forwardings and the performance is sub par and service level sucks. hope VQ won't disappoint me....

For 1 static ip yes port forwarding is required however you can DMZ your device as well.

8IP means port forwarding not required however some knowledge of subnet and routing will come in handy, and you will also need a more advanced router such as the ERL.

Presently it is not one of the subsidized options as most users will not opt for ERL. However the Asus routers are quite heavily discounted and you can certainly make a profit reselling the bundled router if you do not plan to use it. That should cover the cost difference.

Are you using Zhone 2426? Anyway, as long as your Speedtest results to SGIX are good - there should be no issue.[/QUOTE]

Yeap, using Zhone 2426 with Asus RT-AC68U. This Zhone has problem?

On SGIX, I get wireless speed

Will test wired speed tomorrow to confirm upload speed.

Quick question.

1. My PC and stuff will not be moved into my house until after they come and setup. will they require a pc/laptop to do configuration?

2. Onevoice, where will my phone be plugged into ? Is it the usual telephone socket? or into the modemn?

I ask because my phone socket is in the living room while my router i plan to have it in the room, have put up a lan socket beside opennet thingy to the room.
