Read from an article saying that LVG knows very well Rooney is a striker, but he still insists to start him as a centre mid

Manchester United chiefs have decided against making Radamel Falcao's loan stay into a permanent transfer.
The Daily Star says United will send the Colombian back to AS Monaco at the end of this season.

United have the option to buy Falcao for £40m in June, but have now set their sights on other targets.

United boss Louis van Gaal met with the club's owners, Avi and Joel Glazer, this week to discuss their summer transfer strategy.

PSG striker Edinson Cavani denies agitating for a move away.
Cavani has been linked with a £60 million move to Manchester United.

However, 27-year-old Cavani insists he has unfinished business at the Ligue 1 giants, despite recent reports claiming he is unsettled.

"Today I'm great here in Paris," he said. "My family and I are happy and every time they come and watch me play, they enjoy."

So many people talking about LVG not going to make it. As if they are better than him.

To build something, you need good foundation. I was hoping Moyes had enough time last season but his foundation was cracking and there were a few news of dissent from within.

I have not seen it this season with LVG's team. Everyone seemed determined to continue something they all think will work.

The foundation, I can see, is still work-in-progress. A team that is getting to understand it more. A team with youngsters - Wilson, Mcnair - whom I think will make it at this club. A team who always had a chance to win the every game we've played so far this season. I haven't seen us overrun.

Yes LVG has made some strange decisions - Jones taking corners, Rooney in midfield, Di Maria as a striker, not playing Herrera and Januzaj. But I think there must be reasons for LVG to make those really bizarre ones. Do you not find it strange that Smalling came up with 2 goals from set-pieces? Surely that has to come from training. Why has Jones not had any goals from set-pieces? Was having him taking corners part of training of the brain for set-pieces?

We can only hope that as the building of foundation completes, the attractive football comes back.

Something hot's brewing at Man Utd. Wait and see.

McNair has impresed me as a right back. He gets into central position so naturally and has a wicked shot too. I hope he becomes permanent right back by next season.

Hopefully Wilson get to play against Preston and get some goals.

You all confident for the preston away game ar? :x

Why not. We have hiccups against small teams, but we pull through and win in the end.

And eventually in the finals we might meet Liverpool or Arsenal - both of whom we have easily defeated this season. FA cup should be a minimum expectation, which i believe LVG can deliver.

What's Giggs task btw, do nothing but slacking in his chair during matches

Oh my god, you are right. So shall we sack him too? Sack LVG, sack the Asst Coaches, sack the press manager....oh wow an entire team overhaul.

Preston North End striker Kevin Davies can see similarities between West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce and Manchester United's Louis van Gaal.
Davies played for Allardyce at Bolton Wanderers and has followed his long ball jibe at Van Gaal.

"When we had team photos at Bolton, there were more staff than players. If Sam dropped a player, he’d slap a load of stats down to justify the decision; distance covered, speed, recovery.

"Every 10 weeks, everyone would be evaluated, how much you were doing in training and matches and where you had to improve.

"I think Van Gaal is that kind of person as well, in the way he studies games. How many managers would take off a goalkeeper at the end of a World Cup game because the substitute had better stats saving penalties?"

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has defended Louis van Gaal over this week's long ball accusations.
Wenger has not been renowned for defending Manchester United managers in years gone by, but on this occasion he feels Van Gaal is completely right to defend his principles.

He said: "I play the game that is most suited to the quality of our players. When you play (Olivier) Giroud sometimes you go a bit longer. What is good is that there are many ways to play football to be successful, not just one way. You go the way that suits your players.

"You can choose the players at the beginning of the season who suit the way you want to play.

"If you are chasing the game in the last five minutes you do not always want the short ball. I didn't understand what the problem was. Manchester United went a bit longer in the final ten minutes and it was completely logical.

"A team has an intelligence. A team plays naturally to its strong point and an intelligent team knows how to exploit it's strong points. When we have Giroud on the pitch the players understand quickly that they can play a bit longer, cross the ball more. I don't even think Van Gaal said to them go longer.

"If they see (Marouane) Fellaini on the pitch the guys at the back will kick it to Fellaini and Rooney or Van Persie can score. That is normal.

"A big club has a responsibility to win and to try to win with style, but first try to win."

Even specialist in failure defends LVG. But Some of us here do not :(

For players of their calibre, the stats is disappointing. If only Falcao was as good as he was in fm. Fecking hell, he average a goal every 49min:(
