Bro raif-1, it's for the Jukebox

Thanks. I should have seen the video posted. Looks nice. Say if I did this but my movie name is something like this "Awesome.Movie.2015.1080p.DTS-HD.MA.Releaser.mkv", will the Jukebox find "Awesome.Movie" using the internet or do I have to supply said movie cover art?

Kuro TV intermittent audio issue

overall its a great little box that enables both tv and android streaming.

however i am having issue of the audio (thru hdmi) cutting off suddenly sometimes. the video would continue but there would be no sound.

sometimes it would be sound but no image instead. especially when switching from the dtv app to other media apps like xbmc etc.

had to restart before it would be fixed.

Hi,
By default it is not rooted, but we do allow rooting if users want access with the common understanding that it will void their warranty.

:s12::s12::s12:

hi i just bought the player and i understand about the void of warranty. So how do i root?

Hi,

Any ideas why bitstreaming 5.1 DD/DTS from a MKV file via Optical results in loss of sound completely from the centre channel and partially of the front 2?

Switching output to LPCM the audio is fine, but I have to turn my AVR up to an extremely high volume.

Thanks

Edit :

Testing of playback on PC from a HDD in the KURO also yielded 2 findings;
#1 Centre channel audio missing in 5 of the MKV files I tested

#2 Choppiness in playback of 720p files with 5.5Mbps video and 1.5Mbps audio (DTS bitstream).
I don't get where the bottleneck can be since playback directly via the KURO is fine. The KURO is connected directly via a Gigabit router to my PC. HDD is a WD Black 2TB.

Hi,

Please kindly write in to tech@pixeplay.com so we can recommend the apps to you.

Downloading depends on the app settings and not the KURO settings. Not all apps allow for external memory download. :)

Hi,

I think it will be better if you can bring down your player with these MKVs to our service centre for us to diagnose. :)

Hi, I notice that it is still on Jellybean 4.2.2. Will there be any refresh of this product?

Hello, just purchase the kuro smart player. May I ask if it is possible to connect to blue tooth speaker/headphone if I get the bluetooth adapter? And also how do I connect my pc speaker to the player if there is only one audio input. See the left and right plug for speaker but connecting wire no red and white socket

Hi,

From your description above, seems like you bought the KURO TV instead of the KURO Smart Player.

For KURO Smart Player:
Yes you will need to get a USB bluetooth adapter first. For audio, there are RED and White socket at the rear of the player.

For KURO TV:
There is no support for bluetooth even when you plugged in USB BT adapter. For the audio, you will require to purchase a 1-to-3 AV cable. You can buy this cable from our SLS showroom #05-79.

I just bought the Kuro TV but it seems that the firmware is quite old and some apps do not work anymore. Can you pm me the link to new firmware? Btw, can the Kuro TV support USB keyboard and mouse?

Hi Joe,

Currently there is no new firmware for KURO TV yet. However if you need new apps, please kindly request from tech@pixeplay.com. Yes it supports USB keyboard and mouse.

I do hope that you guys are working on a new firmware for the Kuro TV. It still has breaking issues to be ironed out.

Being slow to start up due to it's low end hardware is fine, but half the time after starting up, the system would freeze, or have the small TV video overlay permanently stuck in the foreground despite going to other screens. It's having to power on/off to reboot it over again that makes the slow boot up unbearable.

The sound will often cut out for unknown reasons while watching videos or TV, and have to be reset by exiting and switching between screens until you hear the clicking sound from changing selection from the remote.

These 2 problems seem to manifest themselves more frequently after time.

The screen resolution tends to reset itself to 720p.

And this one I'm not sure if it's the digital signal but selecting AC3 for 5.1 on HD5 and HD8 will only output stereo to a receiver. This could be the source and not Kuro TV, but on MioTV, AC3 will output 5.1 to my receiver with no problem.

I've had the KuroTV since November, but I've been using my Xiaomi Mi Box more than KuroTV because of the issues becoming inconvenient to use.

I'd love to see some fixes or improvements.

Jumped in on the bandwagon late but i have to say i am very very satisfied.

Went to the service centre hoping to purchase one but was recommended to go to the shop instead. Still the service centre guy sorry i forgot to ask his name was willing to go through the whole set up of how the player works.

Went down to the shop and same thing. What i go was a clear explanation of how the player works and what to do and etc before i purchase the box. Really a big WIN for me.

The only regret i had was not buying it with hard disk should have gotten it together. Anyway was wondering if its possible to recommend any korean dramas with english subs... :D
