as long as the touch panel not faulty still will work for the LG Gflex 2. Actually quite common to see people use broken screen still like Samsung or Apple not just LG G flex 2 can survive car go over and still work even screen crack

can apple or samsung survive car run over?

IMO, Bending the screens or rather semi flexible displays requires new (or emerging) tech to perform, hence the price.

if you have something unique in a market as such, you can absolutely call for the price. If not, who do you think indirectly pays for the R&D for the designs? The early adopters come into place here.

Then if the pick up is good and if companies like LG sees potential in moving forward, then they will start the route to mass produce and then you will see the mainstream consumers gobbling the tech up - as if it was actually new new :s22:

You can say it is all gimmicky now but once it hits mainstream, you may not even bat an eyelid. And then give it another 6-9 months, you actually would want those features like laser focusing for camera, self healing covers in your next purchase.

I am quite surprised that Samsung has not adopting this form of display for the phones. Especially with the slew of 2015 TVs that they have just released (that I have listed in Carousell :p)

It may not be immersive in LG Flex but it is something I want to be wow-ed at when I pick up an LG phone next. (And no, I'm not gonna wait for the next iPhone. Probably with backwards tech XD)

Can those of you who are spamming the hastags, like seriously stop. What an eyesore.

just the camera from the G4 is already a clear winner. LG G Flex2 cannot win but i feel its more like a gimmick phone.

who really care if the phone can bend all the way or has non-existent self healing back. also curved or flat screen doesn't matter since you are going to be using it just in front of you.

Again IMO, I think if you are looking at a camera point of view, i would take a mirrorless lens any day.

I have little expectations of the phones' cameras.

if noisy environment like in concert or sport event still able to capture your voice~? :s11:

In this case you won't use the cheese-y whiskey, or kimchi smile (s). They also have gestures what... palm or fist (the air) so that the camera can capture you.

Duh ;)

i apologize.

i missed the admin post. didnt see it. i have removed them already. the hashtag duno who started 1 lol. i just copy and paste since i thought its part of the programme.

anyway i agree with your post. when sammy came out with huge phablet phones, everyone laughed at them for not sticking to the norms. in the end, it took off so well until the note series beat the original flagship series in term of popularity

i can see that LG is trying to appeal their new product to the market with their unique curved design. it will take time, but i believe they can achieve it

nowadays people find it hassle to carry extra device around. just 1 simple phone to suit their needs will do.

extra camera means extra memory card, extra cables, exrta charger. more headache compared to something which you carry around always.

i feel that manufacturer should invest their technology on the camera. one of the few reasons why some phone brands are still so popular is because of the camera tech

Apple got awarded flexible patent so wonder will they release new iphone which can bend. at least when you bend an apple phone, you can send message. LG bending is just for the sake of it.

"Apple has patented a way for a computing device to pick up input when a flexible display is bent or reshaped in some way, according to a new filing published by the USPTO today (via AppleInsider). The patent details a process by which new flexible displays can receive input triggers via bending, allowing it to send an MMS message specifically upon receiving a bending cue."
Means there is a possibility that Apple will copy LG tech soon

I think if they have portable or compact series cameras in the market, they should in line (and logically) have similar tech or better ones in their smart phones.

I do agree that people don't want to carry more devices. But if I carry another compact or mirrorless camera with me, that means more juice for my LG G Flex2. Or any other smartphones for the matter.

Nowadays, I only get headaches when I run out of juice for my smartphone. And if you are gonna tell me to bring a power bank; I am just gonna say carry a camera ;)

They may need to do more than that. Like having those (gimmicky) workshops and flagship stores for their own people to sell the phones.

Who would buy a phone with extra features that they don't know how to use (vs. don't use)?

Or wait....another suit from Apple loh. Too free, nothing to do sue till every other manufacturer and their pants all drop off.

Poor LG, i can see it in the future. Apple gonna see "their tech" in LG's phones and bam! Lawsuit.

they effectively ban LG from further developing and making use of the bendable function to introduce features :(

then again, lawsuit depends on which country courts they sue.. if u get what i mean :s13:

Smart move. I think they cannot make g flex 2 too powerful or else take the lime away from g4 :o I agree that doesn't matter bend phone anot too, that isn't significant. Maybe is a niche market for ladies to look sexy with curves?

LG Gflex 2 now cost $780 while G4 priced at S$928(SRP price) metallic version

indirectly you pay about 150+bucks more for less heaty cpu + better screen + more ram + better camera + removable battery + out of box android 5.1 (from Lg G flex 2 to G4) :)

Newer phones more expensive de. See how much it'll drop, but it should hold the prices better than G Flex 2. Camera is better and 3gb ram.

LG G4 is better than the LG G Flex 2 is most of the categories.
But LG G Flex 2 can bear a weight of 50kg and has sexy curves!

Yeah seems like it. Haven't done stress test on g4 :o
