IMO, Bending the screens or rather semi flexible displays requires new (or emerging) tech to perform, hence the price.

if you have something unique in a market as such, you can absolutely call for the price. If not, who do you think indirectly pays for the R&D for the designs? The early adopters come into place here.

Then if the pick up is good and if companies like LG sees potential in moving forward, then they will start the route to mass produce and then you will see the mainstream consumers gobbling the tech up - as if it was actually new new :s22:

You can say it is all gimmicky now but once it hits mainstream, you may not even bat an eyelid. And then give it another 6-9 months, you actually would want those features like laser focusing for camera, self healing covers in your next purchase.

I am quite surprised that Samsung has not adopting this form of display for the phones. Especially with the slew of 2015 TVs that they have just released (that I have listed in Carousell :p)

It may not be immersive in LG Flex but it is something I want to be wow-ed at when I pick up an LG phone next. (And no, I'm not gonna wait for the next iPhone. Probably with backwards tech XD)

Can those of you who are spamming the hastags, like seriously stop. What an eyesore.

I guess samsung curve phone was lousy, once sat on it break, unlike LG G Flex 2 able to withstand more than 25KG~

Heat up even when not pushing the phone? Not only LG G Flex, for most phones, battery probably is the one feature still not improving much, coz with bigger battery capacities, manufacturers are packing more stuffs into the phones.

However I am used to charging once a day, coming from Nexus phones. Now with droid turbo, I need to charge only every 2 days or 3 days when I want to charge from flat.

now most phones going the quick charging path so not that bad. LG G Flex2 gets hot easily so if you are gaming, the phone will be hot to hold.

I agree, market response plays a great part.
If the sales for the first g flex didn't perform well enough I doubt they will continue to come up with the g flex 2.
I am curious why LG didn't come up with water proofing/resistance for their device. I think it's a rather nifty feature to have.

What is not that good about LG G Flex2?

"The phone sadly has a battery that does not last more that 10 hours. Even on weekends, you will need to charge it more than once a day. Maybe, curved phones are not that conducive to long battery life.

One thing that could be affecting battery life is the phone’s tendency to heat up. It heats up even when you are not really pushing the phone and at times it is as cool as a cucumber performing the same tasks. I think the Qualcomm processor has a bit of a role to play in this, like all the other ‘hot’ phones in the market.

I found the keyboard a bit weird too. I usually write long stuff on Android phones and am quite happy with most keyboards. This one, however, seems to have accuracy issues. But you can just download a third-party app to get over this issue."

sounds like their LG UX is chewing up the phone's resources, probably running on the LG UX i presume....
as usual most of the problem goes away with custom rom/kernel/root

Quick comparison: The LG G4 vs. G Flex 2

Guys, Guess which is better? :o

Hint:

fAVlEX8.jpg

Most consumers will guess LG G4 is the better phone, based on the sharper screen, rear and front cameras with more mega pixels. Although LG G Flex2 will have better performance in processor intensive apps and games.

nowadays people find it hassle to carry extra device around. just 1 simple phone to suit their needs will do.

extra camera means extra memory card, extra cables, exrta charger. more headache compared to something which you carry around always.

i feel that manufacturer should invest their technology on the camera. one of the few reasons why some phone brands are still so popular is because of the camera tech

Nowadays, many compact cameras use usb cable to charge the battery inside, same as LG G FLEX2. Can also use powerbank to charge the camera when low batt.

#hotcurves is available in Platinum Silver and Flamenco Red

From the website:
With no side buttons interrupting its design, the curved form factor of the G Flex2 is both easy to hold and intuitive to operate.

The uniquely curved 5.5 Full HD Display delivers more immersive and lifelike viewing experience. The curved display phone creates optimal viewing angles to minimize glare and reflections.

Always look your best with instant Self Healing Technology that naturally fixes scratches and blemishes to help your G Flex2 maintain its timeless look.

Capture photographer quality shots with LG’s superior OIS+ that steadies every shot for sharp focused images. And with Touch & Shoot you can touch anywhere on the screen to capture stunning images in an instant.

GESTURE SHOT & GESTURE VIEW

- No more stretching out your arm and struggling to press the shutter button. Take a better selfie without pushing any buttons by making a simple hand gesture.

- Instantly see your latest selfie creation as the Gesture View feature opens your photo gallery as soon as you lower your G Flex2 camera from position

Find the power you demand to multitask at blazing speeds with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor with (integrated) 64-bit Octa-Core CPU and today’s latest Android OS.

Spend less time charging and more time doing what you love with accelerated charging that refuels 50% of the battery in about 30 minutes.

Conserve battery power and time with Glance View. Check the time and other notifications while the screen is off simply by dragging down on any part of the screen.

Check out the smartphone options offer a wide range of features, such as 3D technology, Wi-Fi Hotspot, IPS displays and more.
