Along with performance and stability tweaks / improvements, here’s a rundown of what’s fixed and included - we've:


- Ensured the lock screen / notification bar doesn’t indicate “no service” when the device has coverage

- Added a Sony feature; bringing back the "close-all-button" in the activity menu, so you can easily close all apps at once

- Unblocked devices with server policies (such as Exchange Active Sync for e-mail), to enable the new Lollipop lock-screen notifications

- Ensured the LED light is lit across all sound modes - and no longer offset by “silent”

- Made the necessary fixes to enable the easy movement of content from internal memory to external microSD card (something we saw affecting a few devices)

- Improved messaging functionality in Ultra stamina mode – some conversations could not be opened before in Ultra stamina mode

Waiting for the update. Glad they fixed the close all button. Kinda make you wonder which guy in their lollipop team allowed the current close all button to be green lit for the update. It looks horrendous and out of place.

called sony to check for updates on my repair. was told that they were waiting for motherboard to repair. Quite disappointed that they do not have parts on hand considering this is a current gen flagship device.

Just received an update from them and was told that there are no tentative date on when the motherboard will arrive

Then you have to wait indefinitely? That is bs.
They should check till they can give you an estimate date.

May I know what caused the fault? My xperia Z ingested water once and upon bringing to service centre, they quoted 2 weeks max for mother board replacement. But after 5 weeks still no update. So after making noise, they replaced with new set

So try pestering them, because their excuse is unacceptable

Agreed. This customer service is atrocious, reflect badly on the brand name.

My set just shut down without me knowing it. Then after that can't charge or power on already. I never even expose it to water.

If it is the problem with port covers then it should be under warranty.

Err guys, how's your Z3C so far? Asking cos' finally can recontract and if recontract within this month, got 100 dollars off. I am also currently using a Xiaomi Note 4G, which is ok but I still prefer Sony lol.

I want to see if I should just get the Z3C and move on or sell off and wait it out. My main purposes for the Z3C is to have a really stable LTE (and voice) connection, hotspot to my iPad, watch videos smoothly, listen to music (cos' I still no DAP and the Xiaomi has a lot of issues with that, which is why I want to trade that in too) and maybe some gaming (which is already mostly handled by my iPad though)

finally got back my phone, was told that they change the motherboard.

However, upon reach home, i realised the cover for the micro usb port is not aligned properly. No matter how hard i press the cover, it will pop out and a gap can be seen.

I've had to send my phone and tablets a few number of times. While some like my Z3C port flap not sitting flush took below an hour to replace, more often than not, the service is slow and it's as if they will only take action after you check on the repair status. I find this really poor. I mean the PlayStation support is really great, why can't they spread those good ethics to other departments of Sony

Hi I am more or less in the same boat as you. I have the Z3C and the Z3Tab.

Battery life has been great on the phone and for my usage, I get 1.5 days of use which is really good for me. I mostly use my Z3Tab for game, video and browsing while at home but once in awhile I leech data off my phone if I need to load stuff while on the move. During those times, my phone will have 20% at the end of the day.

I leave the phone on LTE practically all the time when im not on wifi. But Starhub hasn't got the best 4g coverage so there are times it will switch to 3g. Voice clarity is good especially during the times its on 4g. The screen is really lovely to look at, if ur not that particular about resolutio. The colour reproduction is really pleasing to the eye and I prefer mine wwith the screen gimmicks turned off. It can go real bright and also dim enough to use in bed.

What I really like about my Z3C is the size. It's very pocketable, light and having a tablet around, the size complements each other
