Samsung Portable SSD T1 (external hard disk) comes in a compact form factor that is smaller than a credit card. The 9mm thickness creates a featherlight effect too at around just 30g. Uniquely styled with a mix of textured and smooth surfaces. From what I've seen the review, the supplied USB ribbon cable seems clumsy as an integrated retractable USB connector be a better and elegant choice.

On the inside, it seems like a drive (a metaphor from hwz sports car picture on the 1st page) that is closely related to the SSD 850 Evo. Therefore, Portable SSD T1 has the same MGX controller and features technology like TurboWrite. TurboWrite dedicates a small portion of its TLC NAND to work as an SLC write buffer. Write performance is boosted to make up for the shortcoming of TLC NAND, which typically suffers from inferior write performance. Based on some experts' past experience with the SSD 850 Evo and SSD 840 Evo, TurboWrite does significantly boost write speeds. Hence, this should bring a signigficant upgrade of an unlimited speed!

Haha. To me fingerprint and grease magnet and also those glossy piano finish will kena micro scratches almost immediately one. Maybe slide into pocket a few times kena Liao. Lol.

Thats the bad thing about glossy finish. Personally dislike glossy as well. Matt is still prefered choice.

Ya. Samsung microsd card not bad. Been using Samsung microsd for a few years. So far have no problem.

maybe revision 2 will have matte case? i am not a big fan for glossy products although they really do look better.

I am hoping for a steel, maybe aircraft grade aluminium?, case for the SSD... Good for dissipating heat also? I see reviews say that the Samsung 850 EVO, which is in this Samsung SSD T1 generate quite a bit of heat?

Seen a USB 3.1 enclosure that raid0 two Samsung 840 Evo mSATA SSDs. Top @ Write 791mb/s Read 804mb/s

Wow, portable ssd raid storage. Superfast read write transfer speed. I guess the host device will also need storage that is faster performance than the portable SSD raid storage, confirm not for normal consumer. Is that the max speed for usb 3.1?
