Good Recommendation!

My review - on the Ah Yi.

Very good service from his team. Honestly and decent prices.

He said need to clean my outdoor unit. He went and informed those staying below my house to keep the clothes. Lucky, I only stayed at the 6th floor. If not he will have a lot of ppl to inform.

Overall, he even recommend me to do chemical 3 months later for 1 of the unit.

Hi all, seeking for advise on behalf.

1) Quick check, anyone heard of or used AC servicing (cleaning and chemical wash) by Kim Hiap electronics?

2) For Fujitsu system 3 inverter, one of the FCU cannot turn on and was claimed that the circuit board malfunction.

May i check with you guys that should i go for companies like Gain city or Natural cool for a proper diagnostic and replacement on the faulty FCU? And the quarterly servicing packages provided by this 2 company, is it worth it?

Appreciate all advise rendered :)

If you done some kind of cleaning, then water might hv entered the FCU box and shorted it.
For repair, Airecontrol.com does repair on circuit bd, you can try give them a call as replace a new one will cost you several hundered $.
They might hv a secondhand set if damage is very severe.
(Just like car scrap-yard, maybe can find at aircon scrap-yard)

KHE installed my air conditioner. I have used them for repairs and service. I think they are competent and their pricing are alrite, quite competitive.

Hi All,

Is it advisable to shift my indoor unit to another location? As currently, my FCU is blowing directly to my little one and i can't seems to get any cool breeze from my side.

Using Pana R410. I heard that we need to empty the coolant and melt the copper and join. if the location is further away.

Aircon chemical cleaning

Hi,
After reading about chemical cleaning, we all agree the correct method to perform chemical cleaning is for aircon guy to dismantle and spray the alkaline cleaner, let it soak and spray with water to rinse out the dirt out of the fine fins.
However some use pressure from the tap to wash out the dirt.
I would prefer if they use a water pump to pressurize and push out the dirt.

If you hv done chemical cleaning and the guys does bring a pressurized water gun, kindly advise their contacts. Thanks in advance.

Hi STREAM, i think there are 2 different methods for chemical washing. Correct me if i'm wrong though. One method is that the a/c unit is not being dismantled, while the other method is that they will dismantle and do and do an overhaul cleaning. Not sure if the overhaul one is the one you're looking for.

My contact is NG at 83660998. You could call and try asking for the ones you were referring too.

Hope this helps ! :)

Hi threequarter,
I am referring to chemical (or known as overhaul) and there was two ways to do this....(1) On the wall or (2) Dismantle unit from wall and clean unit in the bathroom.
The spraying of chemical on the fins (dirt released by the foaming detergent) and rinsing out the black dirt by water can be done with unit still on wall is less time consuming (cheaper - no need to dismantle and don't have to pump the gas out and pump back in again) but less preferred. Also don't want the bacteria/fungi/mold fly all over the mattress.
Since chemical /overhaul is done once every 1-3years (depending on usage), might as well bring unit down, dismantle the control box to flush out all the dirt and chemical wash in bathroom. Pressurised water preferred to flush the dirt out from the front to the back of the cooling coil.

Aircon normal servicing is unit remain on wall and done 3mthly which just is wash air-filters, vacuum drain pipe and clean blower fan ( about $30 per unit).

STREAM2, why not just ask the guy you wish to hire if they are going to dismantle and bring down the unit to wash or not. I guess that would be the safest way to know you are getting the right service.

Dismantle to wash is the cleanest. I think dismantle and wash is called overhaul.

If chemical is applied to the fins, then wash away by spraying water until no more chemical on fins. Will it still damage the fins?

What does chemical left inside the cooling mean? You mean chemical on the fins?

Those canned air con cleaning spray found in DIY stores, is it same and as strong as those used by air con service guy?

does anyone have any experience with aircon servicing companies from groupon? the prices quoted are $44 for 3 units which are much cheaper than those posted in the forums. why is there such a discrepancy?

Can imaging how fast they can settle for 3 units.

Chamical after spray keep within 30mis can be distroying the aluminum coil fins anytime.

So do not spray in direct the coil without dismantle the whole FCU down.

Even you spray water also can keep as cleaned interior side layer as well.

So why those chemical wash may need to dismantle down.

Hi super365,
Yes agree dismantle is the best. Overhaul also done with chemical spray.
My thread was asking forumers who come across aircon contractors that bring a water pump for pressurized water to flush out all the dirt that the chemical has dislodged instead of just using tap pressure during flushing.

On YouTube, google 'aircon chemical cleaning', you see some of them use high pressure water jet. See already damn shiok, no chemical left behind to corrode the fins and copper.

My usual air con cleaning contact uses this machine which he has constructed himself. The machine uses a high pressure waterjet to spray the aircon. So no chemicals involved.

After he always showed me how dirty the water is. So far no dismantling was done.

He is very knowledgeable in the air con technologies. So far, whenever I ask him some aircon related questions or problems, I am satisfied with his answers. This is in contrast to many aircon service guys, who does not know what they are talking about and tries to smoke through

Only this is that, he seems to be very popular and his scheduled is very packed. Need to make appointment about 1 week in advanced and he don't do weekend jobs.

PM me if anyone wants the contact
