Care to elaborate on Por Hau Joo's teaching style?

Hm dunno how to describe...he just tries to elaborate on a point and explain further. Nothing much to teach really, it's just pure facts. There's one other lecturer for IS but I heard that she just reads off the slides. Reason why I recommend Mr Por is because he is extremely patient, and very willing to help if you have any problems with your project. Also, his notes are more student-friendly than the subject guide.

Also, Mr Por has much more experience teaching this module than the other lecturer. The other lecturer is quite new.

I'm a yr 3 anf student and I'm gonna choose my timetable Tmmr. I'm still deciding what to take for my 100 elective.

I'm gonna take..
1)Auditing & assurance
2) management accounting
3)Ebiz
4)and one subject from the list at the bottom.i failed IBM in yr 1 so I'm definitely not gonna take bmgc. So I was thinking intro to IS. Any advice?

IS is easy to pass but hard to score.

Since you listed industrial econs, i assume you've already taken micro? If so, you will be unable to take managerial econs due to exclusion. Can't comment on the rest as I'm taking monec, indus and IPE this year.

Havent taken micro, its one of my cores so i didnt list here since i have to take it regardless. I need to know more about which electives to choose

corporate finance cannot be taken with financial management, so it's either or.

Took it for y1, relatively new module. 13 chapters// theory and essay question// exam format choose 4 out of 8 questions and each questions has about 2-4 subsections.

This mod is pretty content-heavy, which its main textbook: international business by mike peng and klaus Meyer and Google as the best source for finding info. Also, they do not seems to like copy paste definition and they like a lot reference to case studies

So there is a lot of memorization for this module??

yea i know, i just listed out all the subjects everything to see if people can shed some light on

CF tougher than FM, pick the latter if u have a choice. I personally think law mods are difficult and theory heavy, wouldn't go for them as my qualitative choice

I took Balwant for both POA and MA. Personally I feel that his notes are quite good in the sense that he goes through examples of pyp qns and they are simple to understand, though not as extensive. However he talks quite fast and it may be difficult to catch up. He is also not very friendly in terms of us asking qns. Like he will answer them in a brief manner but not in depth.

Overall I think that Balwant is good as he is more exam focused and that is why I choose him for MA in my previous sem.

Not sure about Mok Tian Soon though. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the prompt reply. Mine is a special case, as i am enrolling to SIM and starting as a Year 2 Bsc Biz & Mgt, but was denied the SSCE excercise & the 4-6 sept swapping or change in classes.

So they had selected the timeslot without asking for my choice, for CMC & MSM that is not really convenient for me, so when i asked for a change to the morning or afternoon session, i was told that that is all the timing left for CMC & MSM, only evening ones left.
