Disappointing result for sure for opposition. But I also see it as a hopeful sign that pap has learned they can't fu*k up too obviously and pissed off the citizens.

This time round, they managed to appease the people that they get back alot of their support, although it is not like gct time. They should do all they can not to lose it again.

in conclusion, PAP is smart, WP oso very smart.

PAP made used of an eventful year to push up the votes, redraw the boundaries to their benefit... and placing his strong candidates in places where WP is most likely to contest. and then WP on knowing that, played the defence, by placing his strongest candidates in just the most important places - Hougang and Aljunied - forcing PAP got give up on those, and placing the weaker ones in those places instead.

The results? WP held on to the seats expected, and at the same time PAP got more votes, in the expense of every all other oppositions and independents.

PAP got such a huge swing is mainly because the oppositions are relatively weaker this year. HHH vs Reform Party in Radin Mas seriously? isn't the 2 in the same place during the protests? Roy Ngerng versus PM Lee? Really? SingFirst contesting Tanjong Pagar? And what the hell is PPP? We almost had a Shirwin and thankfully Amos Yee is not contesting.

until 2019 or 2020, we shall see...
