Fixed deposit till you ord. In the mean time, save as much as possible while in NS. Some said can save 5000-6000+++ with current high allowance. Mine time was only 240.

thks, was looking for other (lucrative?) alternatives to FD since its hovering around 1.9% right now.. considering DCA for STI ETF..

currently a recruit getting round 480 now

If tired of the games, the only truly straight forward saving account is CIMB Fastsaver. Basically no specific t&c.

if you are NTUC member, then OCBC has a saving account with 1% for you too.

You can deposit more than one cheque. In fact, you can also deposit cheques and cash at the same time into your FD.

Applied online Maybank's isavy account last Thursday using Singpass...need to attach IC front and back as well as a specimen signature. Quite painless as I already have online account with them. Got the account on Monday. Fast transfer money into it almost immediately. Applied their isavy FD 1.6% for 3 months straightaway. Tomorrow doing another round of Fast transfer and FD placement :D. Not going for longer duration as expecting interest rates to go up next year. i think by far the easiest to set up and highest FD rate for 3 months. period. :)

Yes, immediate FD opening and no crap rules like fresh funds or what. Very good service!

Malaysia banks seen to be very aggressive in getting funds. Good for us peasants.

# : Later someone will post say 1MDB, Najib, robbery, deposit at your own risk!

All banks in SG are guaranteed 50k as long as they are opened here AFAIK.

You may want to consider dumping your saving (which is currently in your Maybank iSavvy) to the OCBC plus account prior to the first of the next month. I benefit from the folks here, so i return the "good" by sharing what i learn.

I will be doing the same. :D

ANZ 1.8% What is the tenors? 8 months still?
I back off when was told that i need to open either one saving or current account with Maybank if i want to enjoy the 3 months time deposit promo. You need to maintain 1000 inside that account to avoid the fell below fees, and at least 6 months for the early closure fees.
