Update:

I just got off the phone with Huawei again (called another number) and spoke to someone else. This time, they told me that the warranty for the nexus 6p is indeed under huawei, and it's a 2 year warranty :s11:.

However, they told me that they have no parts and no spare phones, and will give me a call once the parts come in, and I can bring in the phone for repair due to the defect, free or charge, within 6 months (wasn't it 2 years of warranty? 6 months for manufacturing defects maybe?).

At this point, it seems pretty obvious that Huawei themselves are pretty confused over the warranty information, and I remain cynical towards anything the CSRs say...

I guess my best hope now is that lazada can work with convergent to fulfill 1-to-1 replacements (though it seems very unlikely), else I can only hope that it doesn't take too long for huawei to receive their spare parts/phones.

For the other brothers here, I do hope you guys don't have to go through the same thing :s22:

They may have phones on the 24th as the FB rep mentioned they will be on sale at the shops then.

Suggest you get a manager to commit to 1-to-1 exchange before hand, for once they have stock

Looks like waterfall of 6P incoming. :s13:

Anyone interested in Belkin 6 ft USB-A to USB-C Charge Cable (F2CU032bt06-BLK)? I'll be able to get some for $25 each. In approved list and not the Apple Store variant that is non-compliant. Just give me a message @ 92703205 with ur name and how many cables u want.

At the rate it's going, I'll probably order 30 tmr

Hold your horses I settle for you.

Just received my 128GB Graphite. Very unfortunate that the first thing that greeted me was this speck of dust stuck beneath the screen. Can't remove it any way I tried.

I called Huawei Singapore hotline, and surprisingly, they told me to contact Lazada for a 1-to-1 exchange within 7 days. I probed further and they even told me that the 1-year manufacturer warranty is under Lazada, NOT Huawei. I asked what if I were to bring the phone in to their service center, and I was told that they WILL CHARGE a diagnostic + cleaning fee, as the warranty is not borne by them.

I find this very shocking, as this is completely different from what was previously communicated. Lazada has not gotten back to me yet, but their website states that they only offer refunds and not exchanges. I don't know if an exchange can be arranged together with Convergent Systems, and I do pray that is the case.

Then again, it could be due to clueless customer service reps, as this is a new phone and a special arrangement between seller, distributor and manufacturer. Does anyone know how the warranty or 1-to-1 exchange is supposed to work? MichaelTan could you help shed some light? Thanks.

Please be informed, that the warranty is confirmed 100 percent chop chop, handled by Huawei not lazada. Please pm me your phone number and name I will ask Huawei tech to call you.

Hard to answer your query cause don't know what is inside the adapter. If it's just wire rerouting, then it's ok.

Suggest you put it in and use the same program to test.
I don't have my 6p yet but I remember people saying your phone will report what kind of charging it's doing. It should not report anything other than slowpoke charging. (but this is a dangerous approach)

hmm...

wait for my phone come liao see how.. :s22:

Nexus 6p has many problems is it?

not exactly, some guys on reddit receive faulty sets, im more of referring to the logistics issues that this phone has been facing since the pre order
overwhelming orders for first batch & very poor customer service by lazada
other than that i believe MT has actually done a great job in bringing the phone to us and answering to all our queries

if u wanna know what hardware issues that 6p is having here are some that i read online:
pink/yellow tint when brightness is set to low/max on some sets
top speaker louder than bottom speaker (google sexplain that this is the design due to the bottom speaker using smaller components)
back cover bulging out at certain parts
bendgate

but most common issue is the tint on some sets (depends on ur tolerance level anyway..)

Lazada site on warranty:
Does this phone come with a warranty? How will I be able to claim this?
The phone comes with 1 year manufacturer warranty.
The service centre details as follows:

Plaza Singapura
68 Orchard Road #03 - 78 (S) 238839

Tel: 6238 - 1079

Service Hotline: 1800 - 601 - 1450

Operating Hours: Daily 11am – 8pm (Closed on PH)

and the tai chi begins.... :s13:

edit: MichaelTan is settling with Huawei.. upz lah!
