different. all of them have no solid plans for taiwanese, even if they win. so ish all the go thru motion.

oppos here ish no position to present plans, unless they can win majority, which is unlikely in the near future...

erm, no de, taiwanese election now ish not all about democracy. their democracy process starts pretty late, so they are still in the process of learning.

their first presidential election ish in the 1990s.

but they are making progress much faster than a lot of new nations. in fact compared to sg with ~30yrs stagnant under one party despite having elections, their improvement ish very obvious.

the problem with them now ish that too many party related stuff entangled with mgmt of the nation, and all of them cant really look at the problems straight, but instead tried to bluff their way out.

blue camp ish pushing fake unification, green camp ish pushing fake independent. sway votes ish undecided and somewhat disappointed with both.

it's for sure tsai will be president
but the legislature vote is more hotly contested with the rise of the third parties following last yr's sunflower movement

this song chu yu try how many times oredi? want be csj?

on the contrary, this time round james soong ish the only credible candidate. his term as provincial governor for whole taiwan etc in the past can be described as impeccable compared to chu and tsai.

he is a very capable technocrat with a lot of connections, and he maintained good relations with all sides. he's the kind that can get things done instead of talking about big ideals.

CSJ on the other hand has no experience running govt or managing a provincial govt.

All the candidates are more interested in carrying personal attack and digging out the personal past of each other.

None of them have any concrete strategies to improve the overall economy of Taiwan. They are dwelling on issues on relationship with China and import of American Pig.

They paled deeply as compared to Ma's presidential election.

Most of the voters will vote for DPP Candidate as president due to frustration towards KMT weak management.

However, she may not be the right candidate as she have never hold a official post before as compared to the two presidents before her.

She will struggle resolving the in-fighting within her own party and from other parties.

The MP candidate election will be conducted at the same time.

So, if the overall majority of MPs are not under DPP, the DPP president and her team will get whacked for every policies that they are trying to implement.

Taiwan will be in political and economic turmoil for the next 4 years.

both chu and tsai are mid lvl civil serpents with no decision making experience, pushed to the front desk this time round cos no better candidates. james soong was howevr the last taiwan governor and the first taipei mayor, and in his term he performed pretty well as a decision maker. his candidacy against chen shui bian ish really a close fight. althou he prolly wont get that high votes this time, he ish against 2 green bird chu and tsai, instead of popularist chen shuibian and old bird vincent siew.

but if the taiwanese voters ish not mature enuff just wanna show hand against KMT, they might pick the wrong guy.

But also means KMT ish for sure lose liao?

Barring any freak events from the Sat Election, 蔡英文 will be the TW president.

Every one is fighting for the seats in the House.

If DPP do not get the majority seats in Parliament, there will be fighting within the House for every seating.

I agreed with ponpokku that Song would be best candidate among them. But, he will suffer the same fate as DPP as he will not have enough seats in the House to do the right thing.

Unfortunately, the taiwan people are more emotional than rational. So, most of them may not even vote for the president.

they will fight to the death, althou maybe in vain, cos ish really life and death this time.

if lost, KMT really got a lot of problems. first off KMT party assets sure tio investigation, they may lose a lot of assets. next ish corruption charges, mah could end up in court or even in jail, althou he might not be directly involved.

Chen Shui Bian is already out of prison due to "sickness".

The DPP key appointment holders will most probably be CSB old team.

So, there will still be some "money" following around.

They cannot change the black gold culture.

not payback, there ish really some problems de... some of them very obvious got fishy biz. the payback ish on the political donations but that accusation seemed no case.

others related to it, like selling away multiple state land/state properties to corporations at 1970s prices instead of current prices, and allowed small private bank 富邦 to makan big govt-backed taipei bank, however, were said to directly resulting in a net loss in taipei treasury.

it was said that some plots currently worth NT 1bil was sold at NT 4mil, which was their 1970s prices. and that was becos ma/kmt had to repay corporates for supporting them in election.
