Now that I know whatever promotions there are that require a certain amount of reload will not be affected by the GST deduction, I don't mind even if it happens. :)

I think the telcos also don't bother about this GST thing as they are so generous to give us free data for every top-up.

TBH, even they want to deduct the GST from the top-up amount, I will still happy as long they awarded us some free data. :D:D

I use Hotlink for the prepaid data in the last trip there. Some other choice may be cheaper but the coverage and speed really make a different.

The network coverage and speed are very subjective, depends on where you are.

Last trip went to Penang Hill, totally no connection for Hotlink and saw the person next to me using DIGI, almost full bar..

Digi for general use and maxis tablet plan for additional data. It's more or less a second phone.

In my case, maxis has more useable experience for the places i go.

If possible get at least 2 telco lines, 1 as main and the another as backup then you are good to go.

I had tried TuneTalk, Hotlink Tablet and DIGI Best Prepaid, so far TuneTalk is better for me.

This evening, managed to connect Celcom network for my Magic SIM while queuing at Woodlands CIQ, Digi for Best while waiting for bus, and Maxis only halfway across the causeway. :s22:

There're already quite a few dual SIM phones around without having to go across. Examples are Samsung A3, A5, A7, and maybe even A8. Even the upcoming S7 and Edge will be dual SIM as well. Careful with those that have low specs coz I find the entry level models tend to sometimes take longer to detect and connect to the networks.

HTC Desire 628(?) was $0 from M1 is dual SIM too. I'm right now posting with an older model 620(?) with the Magic SIM and Digi line which I already got the networks at Woodlands CIQ yesterday.
