7.1 surround sound on vlc player (hardware?)

firstly, im not sure whether if this is the right forum, if it aint, moderators, kindly don ban me, do help me transfer.

i got this prob. i hv creative soundblaster x-fi titanium sound card running on 7.1 surround sound system. i cant seem to play any movies with 7.1 surround sound on vlc nor windows media player. is this a program issue, or it does not even support? or is it a hardware issue?

does anyone hv any idea wad other player program to intro that supports 7.1 surround sound?

i hv downloaded the dolby sphere hd 7.1 surround trailer, and tried playing it, but it failed. to confirm its 7.1, i put this file to converter, i see the audio section, it has 8 channels. i suppose thats 7.1?

VLC player cannot play analog 7.1 audio. either use media player classic or wmp. after that download AC3Filter and configure 7.1 channel audio.

i can play juz that no 7.1 output. and i played using windows media player 12 i tink that comes with win 7. ohh how bout can i download the ac3 filter and use vlc to play? i kinda prefer vlc though...

No sure if you want analog sound, I play with the audio setting to get digital sound. The other time I test by connect my system Asus HD5750 (show on the right) to my Onkyo 7.1ch receiver using hdmi cable. Test the same trailer dolby sphere hd 7.1 surround and many other trailer(DTS master audio 5.1/7.1 and Dobly True HD 5.1/7.1). Having hard time but finally work. Not sure it work on your creative soundblaster x-fi titanium sound card, so you have to try it. Also not sure what the current version on XBMC, but the one that work is V11.0 "EDEN".
