Hi
I have an Asus laptop that I have not yet used for about a month. When I tried to on it, it seems to be dead. I hear a faint "tick" sound after about a few seconds upon pressing the power on button.
Anyone know what could be a possible reason for that? Likely to be which hardware failure? Thanks.

sounds like a motherboard powering on failure..

check your laptop's battery and power charger if they are fine first. take out both power charger and battery, press power for a while and then plug the power charger in and power on. see what happens.

Sorry. Mine is Asus UX310U notebook. The battery is inbuilt and the screws don't look like those conventional philip screws. Please advise

Go to challanger, they sell those multi tips tool set. Quite useful for a variety of small equipment.
