Please help to optimise this build

Considering to purchase this. Budget is 2k (if can keep to 1800 would be good). Usage mainly gaming currently on 1080p but want the option to upgrade. please suggest any optimisation, thanks.

RAM: G.SKILL TRIDENT Z RGB LED 3200MHZ CL16 ( 8GBx2pcs )
SSD: SAMSUNG EVO 860 1TB M.2 SSD
GPU: MSI RTX 2060 6GB VENTUS O.C
PSU: C.M V-SERIES 850W F-MODULAR 80+ GOLD 7YRS
CASING: ??? About $120 (Have 2 SSD and 1 HDD from other PC to transfer over)

Based off PC Theme price-list its about $1920 now.

Now old gen ryzen very cheap. That day i tried out this build.
Ryzen 1700x 230sgd (amazon prime)
Msi x470 gaming pro (197) amazon prime
Ddr4 ram i recommend getting 2666mhz. Unless u really want to try overclocking. I see corsair pro 2666 amazon prime 180sgd 16gb
samsung evo 1tb unsure price. But carousell can get below 200 but not local warranty.
Msi rtx 2060 6gb. I think is 530?
Psu no need so high end. Unsure of price difference. I usually recommend seasonic 620w semi modular around 108sgd. If yours is around 130sgd then it's fine.
Casing can get nzxt h500 around 110. If u want cheap then nexus m 59 sgd

Total is 230+197+180+200+530+108+110 = 1555. U got around 400 budget for cooler and windows 10.

You get 2 extra cores and 4 extra threads. Can even get rtx2070 maybe. And still below your budget.

Edited cause changed to x470.

Now u have to decide between 8 core 3.9ghz or 6 core 4.2ghz.

If ts wanna OC, please don't recommend a b450 board for the 1700 as the vrm have a high chance of overheating as it has to power 8 cores.

PSU, would recommend seasonic focus plus/focus(1 fully modular the other semi) or any variants of superflower. If can find EVGA supernova g2/g3 at a good price, can go for those as well. Basically, just pick the cheapest from the ones I mentioned.

sorry to ride on TS thread but just wanted to check since apart from my case and psu, my build is almost exactly similar. im instead getting the corsair vengeance lpx 3200mhz cl16 for RAM.

if i'm not looking to OC, should I get ryzen 2600x for better out of the box performance or should i get ryzen 2600? i'm planning to pick up the RTX 2070 gaming z for GPU. tia!

Ts picked 2600 which is a 6 core chip so msi b450 vrm can still handle it quite well.

Although ts didn't mention OC, best to still mention to ts the risks.

2600x / B450 combo ok?

if no OC,
1700x / and?

still undecided if any OC, unlikely though but then again on my old 2500k in the later years I did to give it some ooomph, so the option to is nice.

If you are planning to OC, go for a x370/x470 board.

If you are not going to manual OC, I would suggest picking up the x variants as they have a decent "auto oc" feature. Though that only kinda work on 2nd gen ryzen which means 2000x series.

I would say at least 3000mhz. 2666 can work but it the price difference isn't significant (it isn't), go for 3000mhz instead. 3200mhz is probably a good bit more expensive so I would probably not buy that.

You can consider the MSI RTX 2060 Gaming Z instead of the Ventus. Slightly more but better build quality.

Ryzen benefits from RAM speed so at least DDR4-3000 though DDR4-3200 is also quite reasonably priced now.

Prices now on average. 2666mhz is x dollars. 3000 is x+20 and 3200mhz is x+30. Looking at 16gb kits.

I used to recommend 3200mhz for ryzen as well cause it benefits quite abit. Almost a 7 to 8% fps boost over 2666mhz

but personally having 3200mhz sticks and keep running into problems running at that speed im finding it hard to recommend it nowadays =(

Using b450 tomahawk with 2600x manual oc with bios or Ryzen master. Can leave it at stock speed if you want
