Heard quite a few raves about Goh Ah Bee - specifically cos you can buy appliances there on the cheap (w/o GST). Any personal reviews?

Don't waste time. Just go to megadiscount store, these small stores cannot compete on pricing. I stay at hougang so I can tell you not to waste your time.

they used to be one of the cheaper one out there..

until recently i went down to check on a 55inch TV.... they quoted $1800....

i went to HV or Mega.. i was quoted $1400.

so.... the answer is obvious...

im not saying they rip people off, but sad that those megastore are killing the traditional store...

I support kyteo79's statement. Its true that only a few certain items are well priced. Other than that its better to do homework before venturing out.

yeah.. regardless... every shop you go to.. do your homework first. they can sell you slightly above cost for 2 - 3 items, then when you are not aware, they whack you one extra item above cost...

so do your homework first and dont buy if you did not do your homework.

I've asked ard for price on a particular ceiling fan model. Among all, GAB quote is the cheapest. So do your homework first, sometimes certain stores might be having promotion or sale too.

If live near the Jurong area can try Kong Tai Electrical Trading. Fair quotation and fast delivery.

Just get from Harvey Norman, I always quote them the lowest price I saw, they just do price match. They don’t need to see proof unless you quote damn low.

I've had no issues.
But they are not a place you go to for questions or extended warranties.
Get a good price, pay cash, and collect or deliver.
Go when you know what you want..

Digging up an old thread, did anyone have problem claiming warranty with GAB? Some of the big name staff telling me not to get from them

Warranty is not through GAB, it's through the distributor. big name staff trying to hoodwink you into not buying from other retailers.
