Hi guys,

I have some issues with this router and hoping that any expert could be me see if its really unable to work or is it really my configuration?

After setup i turn on Vlan and set it to mio setting. and the problem arise.

1) connection unstable.
2) drop connection after setting up for few mins.
3) even with restarting the router still have such issues.
4) reset the router still the same.

so what's the issues? or is the router spoil?

Is your Singtel ONT or ONR ?

If ONR you can't set Vlan. just use LAN4 of the ONR for the MioTV.
If ONT there is a setting like Singtel Mio or Singtel other which you can use and it will automatically do the configuration for you.

I've used Singtel with EA8100 and this is the problem I've found.

I have a ONR from Singtel but instead of making the EA8100 working as an AP, I set it to router mode. Initially, no issue as both can handshake with each other and I ended up having a double NAT. I'm not so fussy about should I or should I not having a double NAT as the EA8100 clearly is better than the AC Elite given by Singtel. However, just lately, not sure why EA8100 started to give problem. Now whenever I boot up both the ONR and EA8100, everything were ok. Once any devices (PC, notebook, smartphone) started to connect to the wifi, EA8100 can get into suddenly reboot mode and I will have momentary of no wifi connection. Just have to wait for a few minutes probably for the 2 devices to handshake (that will be done when the Linksys light stops flashing on the EA8100). After that, everything are ok. I do not have this issue only lately. Not sure why. Now I'm using an Asus router and just plug and play with Singtel ONR and everything working so far no issue.

the linksys EA8100 is a customised router for starhub, it does not have all the features of a third-party router and i believe it is due to lacking of these features that cause the problem. i could be wrong in deducing that. if you could get a real third-party router to test out then you will know. so far linksys (other than EA8100 model) and asus are known to support singtel and its mio tv setup. maybe you could get one of those to try out.

After turn on vlan, TS will need to select "Singtel Others" profile.

As for drop connection, TS can download the Linksys App and play with the features such as Device Prioritization.

Though linksys EA8100 is a exclusive to starhub, but it also have the necessary feature for of a 3rd party router to support Singtel IPTV & Internet.

I'm using the EA8100 with Singtel, I've setup tagged vlan 10 for WAN and untagged for the IPTV port, make sure you do the setup and leave it connected for a few minutes.
The router now supports openwrt too thanks to Leon Poon, flash it to get loads of features and security enhancements but at about 20% lower speeds.

Hi,
I am also facing the same issue for this Liniksys EA8100. I am on ST network using ZTE ONT and Aztech Router, Linksys EA8100 was used for Bridge mode for this while. Lately Aztech modem is giving me some problems and decide to swap EA8100 as the main router after ONT connection.

Googled about VLAN tagging and set it up according to preset ST settings (1 for "Miotv" and 1 for "Others"). Selected "Others" and verified the setting;
- (Trunk) Internet : VLAN ID 10, Tagged, Priority 0
- Ethernet : IPTV ID 20, Untagged, Priority 4, Port 4,

After setting, I was able to surf the Internet but shortly after 5 mins, all my devices wifi couldn't connect to the Internet with error showing "Connected but no Internet". The laptop using LAN will also not be able to communicate the router unless power cycle and disconnect WLAN from ONT. At a later stage, the devices will also indicate "couldnt connect to IP adress". Most of the setting are at default except for VLAn. Below are some Connectivity settings on my EA8100

1. "Basic" Tab
-Router Firmware Update - Latest

2. "Internet Settings@ Tab
- IPv4 - Automatic Configuraion : DHCP
- IPv6 - Automatic/ Disabled/Disabled

3. "Local Network" Tab
- Router Details - 192.168.10.1(IP Address), 255:255:255:0 (Subnet)
- DHCP- tick Enabled, 10:100 (Start of IP address), 50 (Max), 1440 (Time), All 0 for Static DNS/Wins

4. "Advanced Routing" Tab
- NAT - tick Enabled

5. "VLAN" Tab
- As above

6. "Administration" Tab
- Tick the following - HTTPS, Access via wireless, UPnP Enabled, Allow users to configure.
- HTTP grayed out, Untick Allow users to disable internet access, Untick SIP

Appreciate for any assistance rendered. Thanks in advance
