My xox unable to use..it says data roaming not activated and has to pay 38rm for a mere 500mb data...seems a bit not right..

Haven use the card before... and today try, unable to do so.
You are using it in Singapore?

If using in Malaysia, don't need roaming

using in malaysia, it says my data roaming not activated. any idea how to go about to activate it?

first of all. Do u have a existing data plan?
2nd. Check ur mobile settings. Is the sim on SG telco or XOX telco network?

data roaming is for use outside of Malaysia. Do not use it.

maybe i was too late to know, after like 2+ years went back to Johor. whatever config i do, my Hotlink remained in EDGE and won't even 3G. the EDGE service is totally junk. eventually found out that i have to replace my sim with 4G (to keep my number), as 3G decommissioned in malaysia last Dec 2021. 2G they will continue to retain for voice/sms.

now gotta arrange to visit a Maxis Centre. or maybe just get a new hotlink sim just for data purposes.

also noticed that some prepaid sims being sold now got 8 numbers (01x12845678)... there are still 7 numbers being sold.

okie, i think i know what happened already, your primary mobile data is still set to ur SG telco line so its asking you to data roam. go to your phone settings and set ur mobile data usage to the XOX sim card.

if u r using iphone, go settings, mobile data, then mobile data again then choose the XOX line.

8-digit ones should be newer numbers, the 7-digit older ones. Mine are from pre-Covid, both 7 and 8-digit numbers.

Still cannot work? U sure u have valid data plan? Inside season pass no count. Have to activate a plan
Let's put it this way...

Money in the wallet doesn't mean you've paid until you've physically remove the required amount to pay.

is it worth the hassle getting the XOX sim card if I don't go Malaysia that frequently (maybe once every 2-3 months)?

Currently, just activating Singtel ReadyRoam or Starhub prepaid for my day trip/short trip.

I am using TPG. $10/mth for sg 100G data. On topnof that, free 1 GB/mth autoroam in Malaysia. Tried in KL. Connection was good for grab, WhatsApp reply and some online surfing.

the welcome deal is 10gb for 30 days. And 10 gb in season pass. Season pass data last as long as ur SIM card validity. Which is 28 months if u buy any welcome deal. But u have to manually activate it. Starting from 512mb to 1gb 2gb etc blocks for up to 30 days each time.
Anyway if u wan to sign up urself. Can pm me for referrer code. U get extra 500mb. I get 500mb. Inside season pass.
Thanks for clarifying. Seems the XOX is pretty ok.
