Bought a Sandisk SSD Plus 480gb during amazon prime day for $108SGD. The Sandisk SSD Plus 480gb with product code [SDSSDA-480G-G26] uses the Silicon Motion SM2246XT DRAMLESS SSD controller, so don't expect blazing read and write speeds. The 120gb and 240gb versions uses the same controller.

The older version, [SDSSDA-480G-G25] uses Marvell 88SS1074 "Dean" controller, which comes with DRAM. Both versions uses TLC nand memory, so the lifespan will be shorter as compared to SSD which uses MLC.

For comparison, using my Year 2015 Crucial BX100 480gb, MLC nand with
internal Dram.

Conclusion:
If u really budget very tight but still want games to load fast, can buy this Sandisk SSD plus. Or if u want to restore your old laptop to boot up fast, can also buy this SSD. Haiz, can't even beat my 2015 Crucial BX100 SSD..... just gonna use it in my gaming PC to store steam games.

do your research before buying electronics, cheap means something wrong la

This SanDisk drive is hands-down one of the best external SSDs (rugged or not) on the market, and its 1TB version is particularly attractive compared to the other SKUs. Some cracking performance numbers and a very low price make this product hard to fault.
