Having bike only lanes works. But look at tmcr... Cyclists still cycle out of the lane. No enforcement. Vehicles park on cycling lanes, no enforcement.
When vehicle break down, naturally they take the leftmost (cycling lane) but get reported for obstructions.

There are jus too much intolerant behavior. But to me, cyclist makes the most out of it.

And their excuse for being on road instead of cycling lane is "debris". I mean come on, any road, debris are always along the sides.. It's kinda have to avoid... And that road is always debris littered, enforcement on the errant trucks are only a bit more than on errant cyclists(if any) .
Think that one experimental lane, and one no one say cyclist cannot cycle on the road. Cyclist are expected to cycle on the road in the first place.

Alot are those spandex wannabe right? They tend cycle in big group, hard to expect them to cramp all in to a single lane. And the road relatively clear. So, its only human nature to make use of it.

And think that experiment in some ulu place not really effective in evaluating the value of such lane. Pretty sure if they do it on busy road, many will cycle on that lane as compare to squeezing with bigger faster moving vehicles.

And think that kind of lane not total segregation. There is a type with solid barrier or curb separating them from the motor vehicle. Think a proper road design for such is road-curb/barrier-cycle lane-curb-pedestrian path.

This put each of them in their respective place, cannot encroach into other users lane. Thus, there is almost no way any of them will try to cross over to each other path. Unless they willing to take the effort to climb over the curb/barrier.

PMDs on pedestrian walkways: Pedestrians die

PMDs on roads: PMD rider dies

There’s no way the government is going back to the first instance, which was the case ~5 years ago

cannot save such $...riding pmd/ebike on our busy rds ish a no-no for moi, too dangerous riao
Its the people jjww ban them ride on other path, push them onto the road one bah. Now got so called cycling/shared path still can use in some areas. But those paths are not really comprehensive. With many breaks in between. Not that very convenient and efficient. So, often still have to get on the road one.

Road works everywhere
Think nowadays they always digging up the road for communication infrastructure also. Inconveniencing and frustrating many people.

Saw an interesting conflict today between a bus and suv regarding such. Bus going straight and suv taking left to filter out to expressway. But they digging road on the left just before the turn. So, both bus and suv have to filter right first.

Don't know why both never give way to each other. Not sure who got there first. Who supposed to give way to who first. But after hearing the furious exchange of horning between them. Turned and looked, only saw the suv overtook and cut abruptly in front of the bus to filter left.

Even after that, they still don't want to 'pang' each other 'suah'. Still horning at each other long after passing each other by. When the suv got closed, caught a glimpse of the driver. Think it was a woman. Gusty siah, challenging a bus. Wonder if the bus took everything down in the on board camera and will the driver file a complain or not. :s22:

Family and friends of the deceased told reporters that the victim was an aviation engineer who had started a new job for only eight months. He would commute between Singapore and Malaysia regularly.

Does it mean he commuted on Ebike to and out of SG?

As the saying goes, when one side err, accident may or may not happen. But when both sides err, and they meet, accident is almost sure to happen. So, can never be too careful when on the road.

E bike? Why looks like motorbike? Yamaha got make e bike meh?

yes, Yamaha do make E-Bikes but I don't think the motorcycle in the accident is an e-bike in the first place? I thought it is a PMD like a Pedelec

Think most thought its that but think its more like electric motorbike bah. Given the story jb to sg. Anyway when travel in areas with alot of heavy vehicles. need to slow down and be alert. They often chiong very fast in convoy one.
