Perhaps we need to consider allowing the fathers to stay at home be stay home dads and househusband? The government will pay their $20k per month salary with thirteen month for the duration of their children’s childhood for 20 years (similar to $5.2m)?

Where there are no lights and nothing much can do at night. Most people either sleep early or make babies for activity. Its effective then.

I guess you must be pretty young to think that reducing the number of work days will work.

If you have been through the era where Singapore had 5.5 work days or heard old people talk about them, you would have realised that the current 5 day work week didn't change much. They effectively moved the work hours on Saturday and distributed it over the other 5 days.

If really want to change, have to mandate work hours drop from 44 hours to a maximum of 36 hours. Then remove the salary ceiling for OT. Because actually the middle income and higher are the ones not having kids. When removed companies will force them to go home instead of getting them to do OT.

Your idea is not bad, but you might have missed out certain considerations such as mobile phones and computers…unless services like internet are disconnected after 7pm, else people will still have entertainment on hand

When we moved from 5.5 to 5 day week most places just added time to each weekday to make up 44 hour week.

If we reduce to 4 or 3 days wouldn't it become 12 or 15 hour days?
