Drycleaning is an essential service that we use frequently and I hope to share my bad experience with as many people as possible (since I highly doubt I can get my money back). Here goes:
I sent two coats to Fabric Pro in mid Dec for cleaning and the due date was 31 Dec. However, after 2 weeks overdue, the first coat came back but the second coat is missing till now!! The shop auntie at Tampines One outlet said that they also called into the hotline and the CSO Janelle Algarmme said they are now currently moving factory.

What has the company moving factory got to do with them losing my coat???

Their email address or6262 [at] singnet.com.sg is not working and the CSO told me Sarah Goh only starts work at 3pm and I MIGHT NOT BE ABLE to contact her. Yes, for the hotline number once it hits past 1pm NO ONE ATTENDS to it anymore.

I am determined to let other people know that to avoid having headache, please do NOT send your stuff to Fabric Pro although they are cheaper by a few dollars. If it is only that marginal difference, I would rather pay a bit more for better service with another dry cleaner and have my coat back.

Regretfully I am not the only one who suffered this (sadly I am just one of the latest victims of their tardy service). There is a thread already at reviewstalk.com under complaints-reviews on Fabric Pro detailing others' accounts since 2009 (which I wished I had read this beforehand)

Fabric Pro is AWFUL

I agree with the previous reviewer that you should avoid this shop at all costs. I've been using them for a few months because it's right downstairs of my bldg. I've had pants that shrunk and buttons that got lost when my clothes were returned. (Oh yeah, it also takes them 10-14 days to return your clothes and you have to pay like 50% more if you want it back within a week. Ridiculous, right?) I was patient the first couple times and decided to just remind them to be more careful while giving them another shot. However, I recently noticed that the hooks on my dresses have been pressed/broken and I couldn't figure out why. It then dawned on me that it must have been due to the dry-cleaning. When I confronted the guy at Fabric Pro, his only response was "There's nothing we can do about it because it's the machine." I've had my clothes dry-cleaned for several years in the US, and I've never had this problem. I refuse to believe that this is a universal problem with all dry-cleaning machines. Their job is simple: clean the clothes without ruining them.

AVOID FABRIC PRO

I sent my COS blouse to Fabricpro Dryclean & Laundry Services for cleaning in November 2014. My husband collected the shirt on 28 November 2014. When he reached home and passed me the shirt I discovered that the color of the collar had turned gold. I immediately sent it back to the shop to raise my concern. I showed the lady at the counter a photo of me wearing the shirt previously. The collar of the blouse in the picture was obviously not golden in color. The lady at the counter agreed to take it back. I even sent in a feedback on Fabricpro’s website on the same night (of which I have yet to receive a reply till today). A few days later the lady called and asked me to tell her truthfully whether the collar of my shirt was supposed to be gold or white. I confirmed that it was originally white. After hanging up, the lady called up my husband and asked him the same question – whether the collar of the shirt was gold or white.

Several days after that call, a rep from Fabricpro’s office called and claimed that they had checked online at COS’ website and said that the collar was gold in color. She also said that it was not possible that their machine would have caused the color of the collar to turn from white to gold. I told her that I had a photo to show that the original color of the collar was not gold, but she replied saying that the photo doesn’t prove that what I wore was the same item that was sent in for cleaning. She added that they would only address the issue if I was able to have someone from COS contact them to verify that the original color of the collar was white and not gold.

At this juncture for me it was no longer just about the color of the collar anymore. It was their refusal to accept responsibility for the damage done. To not spoil customers’ clothing is the least of what is expected of any decent dryclean service. I agree that sometimes accidents happen resulting in discoloration or other damage. I feel Fabricpro should sincerely admit it was a mistake on their part and seek ways to remedy the situation. But instead of apologizing or consoling me, they denied any wrongdoing and even had the cheek to imply that I was trying to pull a fast one.

I hope that everyone can learn from my lesson and boycott Fabricpro. It is such a shame that they delivered nothing close to their mission statement of “consistently providing a high quality and cost efficient process to their customers”.

Fabric Pro - DO NOT BRING PRECIOUS CLOTHING THERE

This is by far the worst ever service provider I've ever encountered in Singapore.

Below is an account of my recent UNPLEASANT EXPERIENCE with FABRIC PRO.

In October 2017, my friend borrowed a Winter Jacket that I purchased in December 2016. It is more of a Ski Jacket with 2cm wide linings stretching from shoulder to wrist. There are also linings surrounding all the zips and pockets, as well as the collars. After the trip, my friend brought the Jacket and another 7 or 8 items to Fabric Pro in Compass One for cleaning. Upon examination, the staff told my friend that there are risk of peeling in all the items. Thinking that this is the standard comment for their own protection and trusting that since they are well aware of the risk and dare to accept the items, they will take reasonable care in cleaning the items.

After about 10 days or so, my friend went back to collect the items. They were all nicely folded in half with hangers and covered with clear plastic sheets. Without any suspicion as everything seemed normal, my friend took all the items back without unwrapping to check the items. The Jacket was returned to me in its original wrapped condition. A few days later, as I was planning for my coming winter trip, I took out the jacket to try it on. As I unfolded it, I noticed the two long loose linings dangling from the shoulders. The rest of the linings surrounding the zips and pockets were totally gone. What was left are the 2cm width glue marks of all the linings.

From the way they packed the jacket and hide the 2 long linings inside, it was obvious that the staff involved was trying to get away from the damage. We would expect any responsible service provider to inform the customers once damage is done.

When I brought it to the branch, I was referred to the customer service over the phone. I told them that this was a case of negligence on their part. It can't be a case of wear and tear since 100% of the linings came off. Upon further questioning, I found out that it was put on dry cleaning at 55 degree temperature. The label on the jacket clearly indicates that no dry cleaning is allowed. As the conversation with the customer service gave me the impression that they were neither sympathetic nor helpful. I asked to speak to a superior or the boss. But she refused to reveal the contact nor ask the boss to speak to me. I was left with no choice but to personally go to the head office in Pandan. The Manager asked me to leave the jacket there while they investigate the matter.

After about 2 weeks or so, someone contacted my friend and offered just $100 as compensation. And due to their company policy, the jacket would not be returned upon compensation. Obviously I was not willing to accept such nonsense.

At this current stage, I am demanding that they either replace the linings or replace me a Jacket of the same brand and quality. The replied I get ridiculous as shown below:

" I really apologize with the inconvenience, however we can only offer is to remove the material that got peeled off so it wouldn’t look awkward and of course with your permission."

This was the exact quote from FABRIC PRO. What they intend to do is to cut off the 2 loose linings and that is it. Good Luck if anyone wish to bring your precious clothing there.
