How to restore Whatsapp on google cloud to new phone and new number

After I installed Whatsapp, it does not give me a prompt to restore whatsapp that has been backed up to google cloud on the old samsung phone.

I have a different number. I still have both sim cards

I checked google cloud the backup for the samsung is there.

How do I restore the whatsapp backtup to my HuaWei phone?

First manually do a backup of whatsapp to your Google Drive, Then put you old SIM to your New phone (the one which you have whatsapp backup registered on Google drive), Once you install Whatsapp the new phone and try to register with the same old number, you will be prompted to restore your backup, (make sure to setup your Google Account on your new phone before doing this - the Google account which you have backup )

Once everything is backup, later if you want to change your whatsapp account to a new number that also can be done or continue to use the whatsapp on your new phone with the same old whatsapp number.

you need to change whatsapp number in settings, then do cloud backup

put sim in new phone and restore

why dun you just copy the whatsapp data file manually to external
than restore message after install
safest way i feel

on old phone go settings, change phone number then backup to googpe drive.

on new phone install whatsapp login new number, restore from cloud
