Singtel will cease the miss call alert sms feature by 30 Sep 19.

Why removing a feature that is useful for consumers?

mentioned in the first line.

in my opinion, that statement about ceasing the service should be more obvious and not under tnc page.

had also checked w singtel and they have confirmed that they are removing this service given that we have better coverage islandwide. to me, that reason is crap.

I remember last time singtel used to have this problem. Your phone is network full bar but ppl call you kept can't reach you. A lot voice call reliability problem. Many many year ago during 2/3G era

I guess over the year this been fixed long ago.

it is the coverage that will affect and triggers the SMS. What they mean is their coverage will give us no reason to say that there isn't any places in Singapore that has no reception.

this perhaps also means Singtel will fully ensure with all building managements that inside every building be it high-levels or basement, and lifts in Singapore has good Singtel's reception. Hopefully this is what they can ensure to support their reason behind the removal of such SMS service.

and with that happens, they can simply point the fault to our handphones.

Decision purely based on financial.

Probably to cut cost by taking out the service.

But I agree I it is not necessary anymore.

If someone cannot get through you, the person would probably just leave you a message.

Well, my office area has no network reception. So the missed call notification is good for me. Hope M1 and starhub will not follow singtel...

If phone support and office got wifi, can enable wifi calling to receive call when no cellular signal.

Well, not all people will use wifi call... So still prefer to have missed call notification so that I can know who called me.

Wifi calling work like normal cellular calling. Just enable it if phone support. People still call you normally on your number. Dun need to use any app or what.

No Singtel and no WiFi. This is quite a rare situation.

Don't tell me no landline? You can always divert unreachable calls to landline.

No reception. Company has wifi but need to apply access. Don't really want to use company wifi for personal use as there are people kenna warning for using company wifi for personal use.

Possible to divert to land line, but just troublesome have to change back when out of company. Having missed call notification is just better for me.

In the event of an emergency situation, you want to be contactable.

If you are relying on the Singtel SMS and if you continue to be unreachable, then you will not be getting the news.

My family members know my office landline number, so it's alright. Just feel that SingTel removing this service is just going to bring inconvenience to people like me.
