Hi,

May I know where can I get 1.5m Olympic Bar Bell in Singapore? Is there such a thing, btw?

Most online home fitness equipment stores sell 2.2m bar and I have space constraint.

Yes, it's called Female Bar. the bar is also slightly smaller in diameter.

I'm fairly certain most olympic easy curl bars are well below two metres. Not too sure about straight bars that short. Now you bring it up, I don't think I've ever seen any of the lengths you want.

What makes an Olympic bar "Olympic"? Rotating sleeves?

Yes, and the diameter of the mount.
But note that not all are bumper grade.

The female bar should weigh 15kg.
The EZ bar, I've brought 1 in clubfitt to weigh on the scale, it's about 8++

If you're not doing the olympic lifts, rotating sleeves don't really matter. The dimensions, especially the sleeve, will matter if you wish to use standard olympic plates though.

Thanks for all the replies.

I have an EZ Olympic bar for a year and yes, the length is about 1.5m for the EZ... I thought it could do the job for deadlift, military press etc... but after a while my wrists hurt due to the angle of holding the EZ. I am now considering a straight bar (short one) to solve the problem. I will use the EZ bar just for bicep curl for its actual purpose (hope I am not wrong).

Currently all my weight plates mounting size are Olympic diameter and I don't think they fit into ordinary thin diameter Bar Bell (and they are widely available in 1.2m or 1.5m) unless I buy a whole set of similar size plates which will cost me a bomb.

I must add that I prefer the built of the Olympic set with the rotating sleeves. Try both and you will know what I mean.

Some overseas sellers do carry "1.5m Olympic Bell Bar" - 16kg for example see- http://www.powerhouse-fitness.co.uk/ziva-olympic-bar-1-8m-16kg.php
but unfortunately it is not available here.
