Its not for everyone thought. Its QLC drive so performance wont be great. But for archival purpose or read, its great.

I'm not a supporter of TLC already but there was kinda industry force driving it. QLC is... wow.

Reason is simple diminishing returns vs exponential difficulty in production. With SLC to MLC, capacity doubles while the number of voltage levels increases from 2 to 4.

With MLC to TLC, capacity increases just 50% while number of levels increases from 4 to 8

With TLC to QLC, capacity increases 33%, at a cost of 8 levels -> 16 levels.

TLC is already hard to use, so much system-level features at work to hide the latency and it still can't.

Will QLC SSD be faster than HDD? If they can get it to the same price point ($/byte), will be a good substitute for cheap storage.

TLC endurance already like shiat. Seriously they are gonna use that disposable toy-grade NAND to save our precious uploaded videos and photos?

No way im gonna save them to my HDD.

Think for facebook is ok. You uploaded photo or vid. Unlikely to delete. Just keep uploading new ones..
