2 iphones on 1 mac

Got a silly question. I have an iphone & use an imac. No issues but now my mum bought an iphone and i understand to activate it u need itunes.

How do i activate my mum's iphone on my imac without cross syncing happneing e.g. My apps going to my mum's phone or worse still my stuff being wiped clean since her phone is new & empty?

Nope, you do not need to create or log out from your Apple ID.

You can still sign in to your Apple ID for purchases on the device.

When you plug in the new iPhone, there's the different sync settings for Music, Films/Movies, Photos and etc. In each individual, you can check or uncheck if you want or not wanting these to be sync to the iPhone from your own iTunes library.

However, if she has got her own songs, movies & films and needing her own iTunes library to be sync to her iPhone, you may have to resort in creating an user account on your Mac and syncing of media content and backup have to be done on that user account.

Just some tips that I have from my experience:
1. You may want to create an Apple ID for your mum, which includes having her to have her own iCloud privacy features.
(Her own iCloud Photo Stream, iCloud Backups, iCloud Keychain and Find my iPhone)

2. Create a Family Sharing.

3. Add her (and other family members') Apple ID into the Family Sharing.

4. You can now share purchases but not in-app purchases.
