21:9 gaming

How good is gaming at 21:9, 2560x1080, 29inch diagonal.

Anyone got experience?

Do alot of games stretch to fit the wide ratio?

Almost 99% game will scratch to fit, but the problem is does it playable ? For example dota if scratch full the graphics will become long and character become fat (unplayable) , but rest of the game are great in 21.9. So if u mainly play Dota I dun recommend 21.9 for u

thanks for your reply! By stretch I mean extrapolate 1920 over the 2560 horizontal resolution (like what dota does). I dont play dota, like playing triple A titles.

Would you say the LG UM2957 is at a good price?

For $389 is very good price but downside is = no warranty and becareful this type of high spec monitor is easy to have dead pixel/ line after 1-2 yrs . For me I rather buy a used dell u2913wm left 4 yrs warranty at $480+. Because dell warranty will exchange 1-1 deliver to u if anything happen

Yeah, movies must use tv but my room is very small, only can place monitor . And ain't no so rich to buy another big tv

Currently using a 29 inch at 2560 x 1080. The wider field of view in games is nice. While most games do support this resolution, some may not support natively. For instance, for me, FIFA 16 did not support 21:9 natively. There is however a community called WSGF that provides soft fixes for games that are not supported. Best is to check if the games you mainly play support 21:9

Check carefully the monitor is 2560x1080 or 1920x1080 , because I remember last time they sell $389 is for the 1920 model
