For HWZ 2FA, can there be a confirmation code request before the 2FA is totally enabled for the account?

Currently, it seems to be like a 1-click enable and the page does not ask for a first code for confirmation.
Most 2FA implementations on other websites does the same thing to request the first 2FA code before enabling it.

This just happened to me and had to email the admins do a manual reset.

There are some upcoming major changes currently in development to the forum and the 2FA implementation may be different. In the meantime, I agree the current system is a PITA and a necessary evil.
