Hi all,

Need advises on setting up a rig for gaming and design works. Softwares that I mainly use are photoshop, illustrator, indesign, proE, rhino, vray, keyshot, solidworks and autocad. Will be running on 27" 1440p monitor. OS and other accessories are not needed. Budget for the rig is 2-2.1k.

Seagate 2tb 7200rpm ~ $110
Plextor m5s 256gb ~ $259
Gigabyte gtx770 4gb ~ $675
Sharkoon t28 + seasonic m12ii 620w ~ $188
Samsung odd ~ $ 21

Total $1902 buy at tradepac. Diy.

I recommend a bigger storage for your work files so a 2tb should suffice. Next is a generous 256gb of ssd to store all your programes for rendering and probably some games. And last but not least giga gtx 770 4gb to power your 1440p monitor. Psu 620w should be enough to power your rig.

Yeap you can.

Yes you can easily run high end games at max setting with a 770.

But do take note many high end games will still not max FPS with a gtx770 on 1440p ultra.

Bf3 roughly 50fps,
Crysis 3 roughly 40fps,
Metro roughly 37fps

Taken from techoftomorrow, do note these tests are with a 2GB gtx770.
Ideally should go for 3gb vram at least.
