Hi, I would like to know if it is worth it to get a 2nd hand G12 for $350, still under warranty. I'm buying it from a friend and she just got it repaired (canon changed most of the internal components)

Please be kind and share your thoughts, thanks guys!

Thanks for the reply, I'm thinking of getting new g15 at $549 too. Is the upgrade to g16 worth the $150 difference?

I'll be using the camera mostly for work, taking photos for CS audits and occasionally for the vacations. The OVF is what made me decide on the G series as other alternatives are out of my budget range

The OVF sucks and is useless. Utter rubbish, cannot help you much. Poor coverage, etc.

Oh ok, so what other good alternatives are there if we take OVF out of the equation which is around the same price range?

It's still a good camera. But for compact cameras, don't expect the cheap OVF to be of any use or a deciding factor.

To me, yes. The G16 has much better exposure accuracy and white balance.

But for $500 I'd rather buy a second-hand RX100. ;)

The RX100 sounds really tempting but I am not really sure about buying secondhand electronics and gadgets. Will take a look around though. Thanks!

450-500 for a g15 is ok. Quite like G1x but overpriced.

If your fren still keen on selling g12 at 350? let me knw :D I abit tempted. My wife broke my G12 last year and hence we got S100. I so miss G12 so much.
