4.1 speaker for iMac?

Any recommendations for a 4.1 speaker for iMac?
Old speaker dieing soon.
I know iMacs only has a headphone jack for external speakers so not sure if there's any special 4.1 speak or adapter needed.

The headphone out jack is also a digital output. With a special 3.5mm to optical out cable you can connect the iMac to a Home Theatre system and enjoy up to 7.1 channels of surround action.

I have also used the HDMI out from a Mac Mini. It makes an ideal HT source.

really? know of any speakers that comes with that out of the box?
or does all 4.1 speakers comes with that special cable now?
