Then indulge with the mindset that this could be the last beer, holiday, piak, buffet that u may ever have since no one knows if tmr might come.
With this mindset, day after day u r actually meditating on impermanence. Buddha taught 84 000 methods, and since this life is empty of inherent existence, believing that indulgence is bad or abstinence is good is grasping also at illusory concepts.
Vimalakīrti, from the Vimalakirti Sutra, was always seen draped in finery and was a bodhisattva and flamboyant patron of Gautama Buddha 2500 years ago.
Buddhism is NOT equal to being goody goody, otherwise this religion becomes puritanical and dogmatic. Precepts and being good help by increasing good karma to ripen wisdom, but wisdom is foremost!
Even a moment of curious thought about emptiness builds good karma that will definitely ripen in the future due to dependent arising.
All here can be proud that u hv the past good karma to hear about or incline towards the concept of emptiness. Without gd karma, u will never even see nor hear ‘Form is emptiness’ or ‘空即是色’。
