7 zip crc error for nvidia drivers

Hi all

Been receiving BSOD lately, so i thought it's my nvidia drivers going crazy again.

So I uninstalled my nvidia drivers, but upon trying to reinstall them, as the package unzips, I receive this 7 zip data error, crc error message.

It's the same drivers I downloaded before, as I did not delete them, so it can't be an incomplete download.

Any idea how I can actually install my video card drivers again as I totally can't do that now.

I'm using a 6mth old gtx670 2gb.

Hopefully I do not have to reformat my com as I do not have the time to do that now.

Remove whatever drivers that you downloaded from nVidia website.
nVidia being releasing problematic drivers of late.
Just use the nvidia driver from windows update.
Its stable at the very least.

uninstall all your NVidia drivers.
go to this folder:
C:\NVIDIA\DisplayDriver

see your past drivers and reinstall the one that has no problem.

this should work assuming your ram and harddisk is not causing any issue


try not to use 7zip to unzip the package next time. just let it download to the NVidia folder then when all is done just delete it but try to keep the 2 latest drivers for backup

The thing is, I did not redownload the drivers.

They are the same which I used to install previously as like you mentioned, I keep previous drivers for reference, and were working fine.

And I don't even have 7 zip installed on my com, that's the weird thing. When I double click on the exe file, it self extracts, then tells me half way that it's a 7 zip data crc error.

Searching online did say that crc error may be due to hard drive issues but I'm on a SSD, and I've tried running a defrag and it did not report any issues.

At a loss now man, cuz I've no idea how to get it started again...

likely nvidia made it a self extracting file using 7zip.

if still got error when u right click file & run, or still error when u redownload file, - think u shud test ur ram. or if u overclock, undo to stock clocks to test.

-.-. your not suppose to defrag a SSD. You are just wearing out your SSD. Try redownloading from NVidia website themselves Visual Computing Leadership from NVIDIA choose usa/Canada. then select the correct gfx card.

if still have the error. You may want to check your ramlike what hlots123 said. Via memtest.

If your rams have errors. try a quick fix by taking them out, cleaning with eraser or alcohol(for electronics) to clean off dust/dirt. then give it a memtest again.

If same results, just RMA them. If your rams are custom bought, then it should have lifetime warranty
