They're doing so because they would be able to justify a termination of your employment when government stop their grants and they run out of cash

Heard from a friend who overheard his boss talking to partner. He quickly find another job and run lionz

gov is paying a portion of his salary for x months. So when gov subsidy stopped employer “will” terminate him. That’s what he told me.

btw he is a new hire
