Hi knowledgeable ACCA members,

I would like to know how to go about clocking the duration for experience for ACCA if you are working under a non ACCA Approved Employer?

I'm currently working under an ACCA Approved Employer (Audit Firm) for 2 years 7 months, but I don't think I can endure until 3 years, so I'm wondering how difficult it is to clock the remaining months in a commercial firm which is not in the list of ACCA Approved Employer list. I know for ACCA Approved Employer, you just need to let your Employer sign the ACCA form for the period of employment. But I have no idea about the procedures for non-ACCA Approved employers.

Any experienced ACCA members can give me some suggestions and enlighten me on this matter? It will be highly appreciated! Thank you!

1) I am not from ACCA.

2) You do not have to work for an employer approved by ACCA.

3) But you needs a practical experience supervisor to sign-off performance objectives. S/he must be a qualified accountant or auditor.

4) If your line manager is not a qualified accountant, s/he can still sign-off the time you have completed in a relevant role. However you 'can' nominate a second qualified supervisor to 'work' with your line manager to sign-off the performance objectives. There are freelancers who sell this service.

5) Instead of all this trouble, it will be more easy to remain in your current organization for 5 more months to clear the 3 year experience.
