Recently my qnap TS251 died on me. Brought in to rma but it'll take awhile.
In the meantime I urgently need a document on my disk (raid1).
Tried using ext2 driver in windows, but attempting to read the disk causes windows 10 to hang.
Put the hdd in an enclosure and connect via USB, same result.
Also tried Linux mint, no success using mdadm etc as recommended by others.

Was thinking of connecting via usb to another identical nas to read the disk as an external drive, will that work?

Alternatively, slotting it into bay 2 of another nas. However I read auto format would occur. Not sure if that only happens for raid configuration.

Would appreciate some advice, I've run out of ideas...
