Anybody using this X34P. Do you guys encounter screen flickering when overclocking to higher hz? Is the Acer warranty claim comparable to Dell?
I'm into my final stage of monitor choice between Acer X34P and Alienware AW3420DW. Just wanna save some $$ if the flickering is no longer an issue.:o
Thanks in advance.:)

I'm also eyeing the AW3420DW (missed the Lazada $100 voucher damn)

Another option's the LG34GN850 (same panel as the Alienware)

Only manage to grab $50 voucher thru Qoo10.:vijayadmin:
I believed LG-34GN850 cost more than AW3420DW.:(

No, I don't have screen flickering when overclocking. Dell should have better warranty claim than Acer. If you don't mind the price premium, the Dell monitor has better build quality and panel.

Considering AW3420DW too, but disappointed that it only has one HDMI 1.4 and one DP 1.2, so if you use HDMI for consoles you are only limited to 50hz. :s22:

Actually you might as well get the AW3418DW as it is not much different from the AW3420DW. Mainly the AW3420DW has native 120Hz support while AW3418DW is 100Hz with 120Hz overclock. Anyway I am considering selling mine for the new 200Hz HDR one. :s12:

Port limitations due to the older gsync module. Only get this monitor for pc, after all it’s 21:9.

Yup, was already aware of this thanks to the module. Has there been any info on any newer gsync modules in the works?

The only new G-Sync module I think there ever is is the G-Sync Ultimate. I think most manufacturers are not really interested to do G-sync monitors anymore as G-sync compatible monitors are good enough for the masses and does not add heavily to the price. The difference between G-sync and G-Sync compatible monitors is the fact that it underwent 300+ tests and certified. G-Sync Ultimate however, is another thing altogether and I do not think we will see a G-Sync Ultimate compatible one anytime soon given the astounding specs the panel must meet.

You don't need voucher to get a better price, just speak to Dell CS to ask for discount. I got my unit last year for $1350

120Hz out of the box stable no flicker.

Hmm didn't really think too much about that
My second input will be my work laptop hence not overly concerned about the 50hz refresh rate but more ports and higher refresh would be useful with the ps5 coming by (especially when the TV is not available)

I realised the LG 34GN850-B ultragear has two HDMI port capable of 85hz so that might be a better option?

nd the LG uses DP1.4 vs DP1.2 on the AW

Oo nice didn't know the discount can be so significant as the Dell store's listing price is 1719 vs 1550 on Lazada (other distributors)

Hi,
I'm also deciding between that LG 34GN850 model and the new Samsung Oddssey G7 32in. Hardly any in-depth reviews. Can't make up my mind on both these models.

Any comments from experienced bros here? TIA

I looked at the Odyssey as well but I prefer a 21:9 aspect ratio compared to it's regular 16:9 for work productivity (more intuitive for split screen applications)
