There is no right / wrong here. It's a system of trust. Countries wants to do business with each other, put in a system of trust so that they can cooperate. There is no right or wrong here. The west broke that trust which also jeopardise their own system. I heard recently that the Chinese rich are pulling back their wealth from the west. They worried that their assets would be confiscated.
