Hi All,

Need recommendations to help me decide which Gaming Laptop to get.
Not limited to the 2 below.

I am looking at the followings:

- Budget around $2.5k
- 17" screen size
- Not too bulky
- GTX 1060
- Webcam
- SSD for startup

Interested models:
ASUS GL 702VM
Aftershock S-17

Thanks !

i suggest you re-evaluate that aftershock option. 2.5k might be a little tight for your budget, especially since SSD is a must have

if you barely squeeze budget through, the SSD may be just the lowest config which is like 128GB, then it'll only fit the OS and barely any games

the asus will be cheaper but it wont have the superior cooling of its high end cousins, in fact it'll be quite bad. also not sure if it comes with SSD

Actually i'm not into hardcore gaming so the SSD just to speed up PC startup :)

Between ASUS and aftershock and maybe others which is recommended?

The superior colling system u referring to Aftershock? S-17 now with promo SSD free upgrade to 128G.

superior cooling i mean Asus G and GX series, they have more well developed cooling thanks to their bulk

aftershock's cooling honestly I dont think is that great. clevo's thermals are ok but not fantastic so whatever aftershock uses from their chassis will inherit the same characteristics. But if you are not a hardcore gamer it's unlikely you will push your system that hard anyway

regarding gaming or not gaming the issue of SSD is after you stick your whole OS into the SSD how much space is left for you to install other programs, or are you ok to keep them on the slower mechanical hard drive
