good point. and that 7750 i bought actually had no warranty except for 7-day exchange, just didn't want to post it cuz didn't want $$face to come and give me **** about it.

yeah but my point was that any deal that is too good to be true, better check first.

Wonder if dota n cs will ever be as demanding as crysis? Cos i only played cs for 5 min n returned the game due to simple graphics.

Not everybody play games because it is graphically nice/demanding. CS GO and dota will never be as intensive as your AAA titles but other aspects of the games are just as rewarding.

Not totally true since it predominantly only affect the reference cooler ones. 290/290X are going lower that period mainly to clear remaining stocks, as it always happen during gen transitioning period.

seldom see Nvidia lower price so much when clearing stocks. it may explain a demand and supply issue.

he wanted it to be futureproof for 3-5 years, and he would be playing AAA games on his pc if they are pc exclusive, and he wanted us to reach his $1500 budget, so we recommended him those parts.

still it's about getting what u need cos the 960 and 380 today will be just as future proof in the medium range. while it's his budget, no harm considering some savings based on one's needs.

the 290 not reference model leh... is the turboduo cooler from powercolor. lots of heat but still decent enough, and just $389, closest to that price besides the 290 is the 380x and 280x, both of which aren't as good as the 290, so smarter choice is the r9 290.

i like the 290 too. wasn't criticising it. just speculating on possible stocks despite being an old card.

was not saying CS or less graphic intensive games are not rewarding. ok for me it wasn't. but my point was a cheaper gpu which can push AAA titles should work well for the games TS plays.

I don't think any futureproof with GPU.

I think some ppl are using GTX 650 (now rebrand to GTX 750) until this date and many ppl are still getting it.

So far the RAM 16GB is no use as well. I don't feel the different between 8GB and 16GB
(my situation is almost similar to TS, slightly gaming dota2, csgo etc and browsing + MS office work).

*abit regret using the 16GB now*.

Serious ah lol, I was planning to increase my ram to 16gb though haha. Now contemplating whether to get it now :(:(

A big thanks to all of you for your help! yes i know i am a little troublesome because I want to saturate my budget although the things i am doing might not be require this huge of an investment. But hey, how often can you convince your brothers to chip in for something so might as well just use them all right? :)

Thanks MoneyFace, can I also ask a question? I have an old SSD and also a HDD with important data stored inside of them. I am actually planning to include them in my rig but i forgot to mention. Will the case that you have recommended be able to sit all of them in?

Cheers and thanks once again!

8gb or 16gb for me really no effect.

Maybe depends on your usage as well.

I tested 16GB and 8GB with 1 browser 8 tabs manga+1 youtube, Garena, RGC, steam, Heroes and Titans online, and wc3.

I really don't feel any different between them.
