Here's my current plan:

CPU:AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 3.7 GHz 6-Core Processor
MB:Gigabyte B550I AORUS PRO AX
RAM:Corsair vengeance LPX 32GB
GPU:PowerColor Radeon RX 5700 XT 8 GB Red Devil (reuse from current rig)
HDD:(reuse from current rig)
SSD:Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1 TB
PSU:Cooler Master V SFX Gold 650
CASE:Cooler Master MasterBox NR200
Extra fans:???
CPU cooler:???

Planning to reuse my GPU, HDD, monitor, keyboard + mouse.

Do I need extra fans for more cooling? I see some YouTube builds use radiator instead. Do I need them since I do not intend to overclock?

Do I need anything else?

:look:Any recommendations for CPU cooler?

Any other parts recommendations will be good too!:s12:

I think he wants a ITX build with a SFF casing too hence the choice to get the NR200. The LL O11 dynamic mini is way bigger.

Yup, I know that. Slightly bigger is better for airflow and cable management

Ryzen 5 5600X already comes with CPU fan and thermal paste in the box. You dont need to buy it separately.

SSD: Please consider a Pcie4 SSD instead since the motherboard supports it.

NR200 Case already comes with chasis fans in the box. You don't need to buy more.

If you want an even smaller ITX case, consider ghost s1 (high end, expensive) or you can buy a copycat ghost s1 from china. If u buy this case, then u need to buy their recommended CPU fan separately as the stock 5600x cpu fan is probably too big.

bro, nr200 and o11 mini are in completely different classes of cases. also, o11 mini is more than twice the volume of the nr200, definitely not "slightly" bigger :s22:

Definitely not slightly bigger lol. Can totally fit the NR200 in.

How much faster is Pcie4? Is it work the price upgrade?

I think the NR200 is just the right size. Any smaller and the components will be hard to fit in. For fans there's still some room in NR200, so thinking whether to fit now or add later if needed.

Ryzen 5600X Stock comes with Wraith Stealth Cooler, is the cooling sufficient? The Wraith Stealth Cooler seems to fit ok. The review above is using a taller Hyper 212 (~158mm) and it seems to fit nicely.

Good choices overall. You don't need Gen4 for SSD. Samsung 970 Evo Plus is best-in-class for Gen3, you can get something very close in performance for less money eg SK Hynix P31 Gold on Amazon SG for ~$180. But if you trust Samsung most and have the extra $$$ to spend it's a perfectly fine choice.

For cooling - ID-Cooling SE-224-XT is a great budget option. Scythe Mugen 5 if you want to spend a bit more, Noctua coolers if you want to spend a lot more. You won't *need* extra case fans besides the ones that come with the NR200P (note: the non-P NR200 doesn't come with the 2x 120mm case fans), but you might find that they are a bit loud, or that you want RGB. Plenty of aftermarket fan options if you wanna upgrade, but that isn't something you have to figure out immediately.

If you want something similar to the NR200, can consider Tecware Fusion as well, it's slightly bigger and capable of housing a MATX mobo, and also more clearance for a beefier CPU cooler if you're worrying about temps.

I am using a Noctua L12S for Ryzen 7 5800X. I have 5 case fans installed altogether.

2 120mm fans that came with the case, 1 120mm fan at the side and 2 slim fans at the bottom.

My CPU Idle temp around 45+ and around 76+ when running Cinebench. I don't game on this set up much but rather do more productivity work.

That's why I'm surprised it was brought up.

The best (and biggest) cooler you can fit in is the noctua U12A with the 2x NF-A12x25 fans which are top notch. It cooled my 5900X no problemo. But only fits with the mesh panel. If you want TG panel, the largest that fits without any extra force is the Scythe Mugen 5. The Fuma 2 fits but your TG panel will push it down a bit. The U12A, not at all. However since you are only using a 5600X, a mid-capacity cooler will do, even the 4-heatpipe tower types (refer to video below).

This is from personal experience using those components (not the Fuma, but info out there is clear on it).

One more tip: re-orientating the CPU heatsink fan and rear case fan to intake will help temps if you have a hot GPU, especially with the TG panel. But make sure you have 2 fans on top exhaust.

P.s. selling my Mugen 5 Rev B since I moved to ATX case :p

Most of my ITX build, I will use Noctua's fans and their low profile cooler. I personally like NH-L9 and NL-L12S coolers (not sure if will fit the CM case).

You can buy from Noctua's official reseller (Noctua 旗舰店) on Taobao. Much cheaper.

For an ITX system, I guess there is not much headroom for overclocking. Using fans with good airflow will help a lot in overall cooling.

Low profile coolers are ideal for SFF BUT (very big but here) - make sure to check the motherboard compatibility first! This is because of the cramped space around the CPU socket, coupled with the fact that many newer motherboards have big VRM heatsinks. Also especially so for ITX mobos, there are components on the back side of the motherboard that may get in the way!

E.g. the Dark Rock TF is a great top-flow cooler but it is not compatible with the ROG Strix B550-I because of components on the back of the mobo. Another e.g., any cooler that uses a STOCK Intel backplate is not compatible with some of MSI's ITX motherboards because of the CUSTOM backplate on those boards! Another e.g. some AIO cooler pumps are not compatible with the AsRock B550-I Phantom Gaming because of the VRM heatsink! Some top flow or C-type cooler like the Noctua C14S also may not be compatible because the heatpipes either hit the I/O shield/rear VRM heatsink or the RAM/DIMM slots - a few mm may mean the difference between can use or cannot use!

So be VERY careful when you purchase CPU coolers for an ITX build, if in doubt, ask, check on the internet, chances are someone will have had experience with it before, especially if it's a cooler that has been around for some time.

I bought all the parts and just finished building my Itx!!! Damage was 1.7K (without GPU)

CPU:AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 3.7 GHz 6-Core Processor
MB:Gigabyte B550I AORUS PRO AX
RAM:Corsair vengeance LPX 32GB
GPU:PowerColor Radeon RX 5700 XT 8 GB Red Devil (reuse from current rig)
SSD:Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1 TB
PSU:Cooler Master V SFX Gold 650
CASE:Cooler Master MasterBox NR200
CPU cooler:Scythe Mugen 5 Rev. B

OWQaz.png

I set the CPU fan as intake, then the top fan as output. Reserving the option to get slim fans for more air flow if needed in the future.

Gaming wise the temperature was ok-ish. Tested with the game 7 days to die. Don't seem to need extra fans for now, maybe will test more with higher intensive games soon.

Thanks for the help guys!

For Noctua.

Want to check motherboard compatibility, can check here:
https://ncc.noctua.at/motherboards/all
I ordered my C14s from Amazon US and opt for Global priority shipping.
Hours after it had shipped, I realise the fan is compatible with my Case and overlook my motherboard compatibility...
On paper specs it stated it is not compatible with my Msi Z590i motherboard cos the shroud is too big and so far only one user from reddit says it will with photo.

Now keeping my finger crossed and hoping that it will when my cooler arrives these 2 days..

Anything below 75C, or even 85C is acceptable, TBH. The components have sufficient thermal tolerance for those temps. Anyway you are not using it for extended periods at those temps. Also, higher temps in SFF are to be expected.

The Noctua C14S and Dark Rock TF are difficult coolers to place IMO. They have lower clearance than tower coolers, but the dimensions are not small or slim by any measure. The heatpipes alone will pose problem for not only several ITX boards but even possibly some mATX boards. IMO they are more properly suited for full ATX builds that for whatever reason you prefer a top down cooler.
