Rightly so. Hence I'm very interested in looking at a refined gaming Brix in 2 years time. I no longer see the point of having a gaming rig of an ATX case mid-tower or larger unless going for custom WC.

Agreed. Unfortunately I no longer play games. Otherwise will be more adventurous on a performance PC.

Gotten starcraft 2 and 2 copies c&c collections on the cheap last Xmas sales... Nowadays seldom boots to windows except some audio conversion.... Let alone firing up the game.

Going tiny now. Waiting for mini PC to arrive.

After further research, am thinking of changing to MSI B85i motherboard instead of ASRock H81M , difference of only $12 but I get a PCIe-3 support and support for USB 3.0 at front panel.

Any comments?

I am venturing into something new... wish me luck.:D:s22:

Seller also said the HM70 chipset is obsoleted & add USD$6 for the HM77 chipset plus dual-intel Intel 82574L gigabit nic & 4X USB3. :s12:
Add $10 for 300N wifi. Add $4 for vesa mount.

I'm going to run XBMC on ubuntu.

There are other options for customization, like without RAM & SSD. So you can add your own bigger SSD and better ram maybe.

Factory price mini pc windows 7 or linux with Celeron C1037U 1.8Ghz with 2 RJ45 USB 3.0 TF SD Card 4G RAM 64G SSD full alluminum-in Mini PCs from Electronics on Aliexpress.com

OR

Fully barebone... no ram, no ssd.

2014 NEW Intel Celeron C1037U aluminum fanless dual core living room HTPC Barebone Mini PC with USB 3.0 HDMI 2 RJ45 TF SD Card-in Mini PCs from Electronics on Aliexpress.com

I supposed the same upgrade options applies. $10 for wifi. S$4 VESA mount. S$6 for upgrade to new HM77 vesion with 4X USB3, Dual Intel NIC.

The built-in carrying handle makes for a good portable rig too.
