Currently chosen parts:

CPU: Intel Core i5-4590 Processor $272
Cooling: Cooler Master Hyper212X $57
SSD: Kingston HyperX 3K 120GB $129
Hard Drive: WD 1TB Black 64mb SATA3 $100

Case: Corsair Carbide 200r $85
Video Card: MSI GTX 760 4GB TWIN FROZR $439

Wireless LAN: Asus PCE-N15 card $59
Operating System:Windows 7 Home prem $125
CPU+MOBO bundle: $406

Price taken from PC themes catalog
Budget: <$1600
Any advice on saving money while maintaining performance?

Looking to play at 1920 x 1080
-BF3/4 multiplayer at around 90 fps at mid-low settings
-CSGO low settings at 140+ fps
-AC3/4, Borderlands pre sequel/ Borderlands 2 mid-high settings at at least 60fps

Edit: Saw some systems with gtx970 <$1700, will I be losing out on any quality if I chose one of those?

Thanks :)

I can confirm the GTX 970 can max Borderlands 2 settings :s42:

Based on experience, study your options to connect to your internet. If I was able to redo my rig I would have considered using LAN instead of wifi adapter or even powerline home plug adapters.

Hey, thanks for the suggestion! I do have a few questions though,
1. Do I need a cpu cooler? Will it be cool enough?
2. What is the diff between the hard drive colours green, blue and black?

No need CPU cooler since u not overclocking, the stock will do good

Green is for storage, load slower, quite noisy

Blue is abit of hybrid, good performance and quiet

Black is the fastest among the 3 drive, have a longer warranty and better built

But since u only need a storage drive and u aready have a ssd for ur OS etc, go for a blue drive.
