Hi all, sorry i'm pretty new with this PC stuff. Basically I have a pc which is a couple of years old and recently, whenever i play dota2, the game tends to have really long loading times.
Also, at the start of each game when players are choosing heroes, the whole game will start to hang for a few seconds here and there while loading the hero models. And recently it has also been crashing for no good reason out of the blue. I suspect all this has to do with my HDD? I have good FPS and the game runs smoothly other than the issue with the loading lags.
My PC has the following specs
4gb ram
HD4890
AMD athlon II 64 x4
A super old 80gb hdd which windows is installed on
Another toshiba 160gb hdd (couple of years old with dota2 installed)
Windows XP sp3
Im thinking of getting throwing away the 80gb hdd, getting a new SSD(for windows, d2 and other applications which i use most) and reformatting the 160gb HDD to store other stuff.
I only do casual stuff on my PC like streaming videos, playing dota2 and fifa, so im fine with my current specs other than the HDD.
Would getting a new ssd and reformatting the other hard drive help solve the issues? and if so, would a 120gb one suffice?
Thanks!
