Hey all, it's my first time posting and I'm hoping someone could help me out here. I'm looking to build a PC that can enable me to use video processing software, like Vegas or After Effects. I imagine that it's going to need something beyond gaming-PC power, so my budget is 2.5k (I could stretch, but obviously would rather not).

I don't intend to OC either.

I did a little digging around for prices and this is what I found. I noticed a few combos (Mobo+CPU, etc.) around and I'm not sure what kind of combos exist that I can use to shave a few dollars off.

Casing: ThermalTake Spacecraft VF-1 - $89
CPU: Core i7 - 3770k - $433
CPU Cooler: Hyper 212 Evo: $65
Mobo: Gigabyte Z77X-D5H - $249
RAM: 4 x 4GB Kingston HyperX DDR3 1600 - $156
PSU: Cooler Master Silent Pro M2 720W - $157
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2TB SATA - $113
SSD: Plextor M5 Pro 256GB SSD - $235
Sound Card: Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Gamer EOL: $149
GPU: nVidia GeForce GTX 680 - $708

Giving a toasty total of $2354.

It's my first time building a PC, so I hope you guys will forgive any ignorance on my part.

Thanks in advance!

CPU & Mobo: Xeon 1245v2 & Asrock B75 Pro 3M @ $465
Same feature as i7 and costs slightly cheaper.
Ram: G.Skill 1600mhz value ram 2x8GB @ $144
Go with 2x8GB so you have room to add in another 16GB in the future if you feel 16GB is not enough.
ODD: Liteon DVD RW @ $25
HDD: Toshiba 2TB @ $118
SSD: Plextor M5P 256GB @ $289
GPU: Gigabyte GTX 770 Windforce @ ~$645
Case & PSU: Sharkoon T28 & Seasonic M12 620W @ $195
Assembly fee: $10

Total: $1881
Buy and build at PC Themes.
