Advice needed

Hi,

I will be going to Taiwan at year end and would like to seek some advice here. Not my 1st time visiting Taiwan but I need some advice here for day 4 to 7 so I can land up at taichung at day 8.

Day 1-3 at taipei
Day 4-7 dunno do what
Day 8-10 at taichung.

I would like to go to hualien. But not sure if I should spend 1 or 2 nights there or just take a day trip there from taipei. For hualien, 1 day tour is enough for standard sights?

After hualien, where can I go next? Sun moon lake?

Appreciate advice.

Hi

I would suggest that you get a driver to drive you around from day 4-7.

You can travel via train to Hualian where a driver can pick you up for sightseeing tour. To be honest, there are not much stuff to see around Hualian and a day with a driver should be sufficient. Maybe consider a rough itinerary I have come up with.

Day 4
Arrive at Hualian (about 3 hours from taipei via train)
Sightseeing around Hualian with driver
Stay at Hualian for the night

Day 5
Travel to Cingjing with driver, stop by Taroko Gorge for some casual sightseeing
Pass by Hehuanshan for some casual sightseeing
Explore Cingjing grasslands(free roaming sheep farm with great scenery)
Stay at Cingjing

Day 6+7
Travel from Cingjing to Sun Moon Lake
Activities around Sun Moon Lake(cycling, boat, theme park etc you can spend up to 2 days at Sun Moon Lake)
Sun Moon Lake to Taichung(1.5 hour drive from Sun Moon Lake)

Sorry to hijack... I am also planning a taiwan trip. Day 1 in Taipei, Day 2- in Hualien, Day 4-6 at Leofoo Resort... My question is does it make sense to go Leofoo directly from Hualien or I am much better off just staying in Taipei for my last 2 nights?

It's good.
But pretty seasonal.
So check with Minsu.
